For the next few days, we trained from dawn to dusk. They divided up the Alphas and Betas and tasked us with overseeing training. After seeing that I was able to hold my own, they assigned me to train with some of the werewolves and give them tips as well. I was also able to learn a few things from the werewolves.
I was able to bring Markos over to our side as well, which wasn’t that hard since my dad would kill him if he returned without me. His desire to make up for betraying me also helped. The Elders still didn't trust them but they knew having a vampire on our side was to our benefit.
There was a sinking feeling in my gut that grew with each passing day that was becoming harder for me to ignore. I wrote it off as anxiety about the upcoming war but I had a feeling it was something else.
Today, everyone was on edge. It was exactly a week since the day Markos told us Resmer had planned to declare war. It was the day we had been waiting for. The day we had been preparing for.
