บท 14: Chapter 14: Balance Breakers

Rias, Akeno, and Koneko faced off against Kiba in the backyard. All of them unleashed their demonic power.

"I'll show you how hopeless this team is against someone stronger," Kiba declared as he transformed into his Sin Devil Trigger Mode.

He summoned his Devil Sword, a fusion of Rebellion, Yamato, and Sparda.

Using Flash Step, he moved so quickly that they couldn't react. Three Kibas appeared behind the girls, knocking them out with the hilts of their swords.

The three Kibas gently laid the unconscious girls on the ground before two Kibas dissipating.

Kiba sighed as he detransformed. "What were they thinking, fighting me?" he muttered, frustrated. 'I didn't even use Boosted Gear.'

He grabbed a chair and sat, waiting for them to wake up.

[You really didn't show any mercy, did you?] Ddraig chuckled.

[What did you expect? Play with my enemies? I could easily slash them all,] Kiba replied.

When they awoke, they were surprised to see Kiba sitting calmly. He turned the chair around and smiled, "Did you have a good nap?"

"You proved your point. You're stronger than us," Rias admitted, gritting her teeth.

Akeno was disappointed in herself, knowing Kiba hadn't even used his best techniques. Koneko felt annoyed, wondering if using her full power would have made a difference.

"This fight shows how effective your experiments are," Kiba said. "Now, don't question my decisions anymore."

"Fine, we'll respect your decision. But one question," Rias asked, wanting to understand Kiba's ambitions.

"Go ahead," Kiba replied.

"How strong do you want to become?" Rias asked.

"Strong enough to slay Gods and Outer Gods," Kiba said.

"Outer Gods?" Akeno echoed, confused. None of them had heard of this term before.

"A higher tier of beings," Kiba explained, getting up from the chair. "What do you guys want for dinner?"

"Ramen," Rias said.

"Udon," Koneko added.

"Soba for me," Akeno chimed in.

"Looks like we're having noodles tonight," Kiba said, walking away, thinking to himself, 'Somen for me.'

Two hours later, the food was ready. The soup took the most time, as each type of noodle had a different broth. They began eating, and Koneko asked, "Are you not mad at us?"

Kiba paused his slurping. "No, why would I be? I know you guys didn't mean any harm," he said, looking at them. "I understand you're worried because you've lost people before, maybe not Rias, but that's beside the point."

Rias felt attacked.

"If you understand, why?" Akeno asked, seeking clarity.

"I need the strength to protect you guys. I have to take care of three single girls in this household," Kiba said with a smile.

"You say that, but you don't have a girlfriend either," Akeno retorted.

"Meh, I could get one if I wanted to," Kiba replied.

"I could say the same," Akeno said, rolling her eyes.

They shared a smile and started laughing, with Rias and Koneko smiling along.

"It's been a while since we laughed like this," Kiba said, wiping tears of laughter.

"Yeah," Akeno agreed.

After finishing their meal, Kiba was cleaning the dishes when Koneko approached him. "Can I get stronger? I've been training with Tannin, but I'm not seeing results," she said.

"You're asking me?" Kiba pointed to himself.

"Yes, Kiba-senpai," Koneko said, annoyed that he didn't take her seriously.

"I'm honored, but the reason you feel that way is emotional. As devils, we rely on emotions to get stronger. You need to help yourself, Koneko. I can't do it for you," Kiba said with a smile.

Then Akeno approached. "When are you going to teach me that Electrification technique?"

"Whenever you're free," Kiba replied.

"Tomorrow at 9 PM," Akeno stated.

"Sure," Kiba said. "I don't have anything else to do except maybe training."

After Koneko and Akeno left, Rias leaned against the wall, watching him.

"Is there something you want to ask?" Kiba inquired.

"Yes," Rias said.

"Shoot," Kiba responded.

"What do you mean by the Gremory clan will be at the center of conflict?" Rias asked.

"Ask your brother. I'm sure he'll give you a full explanation," Kiba said.

"Why can't you just tell me?" Rias was frustrated.

"Because I don't have enough information. Ask your big brother. And I'm afraid he may get angry if I tell you about it. It's better you find out on your own," Kiba said.

"Okay, fine," Rias said, leaving the kitchen and Kiba alone.

After finishing the dishes, Kiba headed back to his room, locking it securely with a seal-based spell and soundproofing it.

The lock could only be opened using his demonic power signature or by manually correcting the pattern of the demonic circle.

He activated his Boosted Gear and took a seat, focusing on boosting the creation process.

He began amplifying his emotions, even unlocking lust. As he floated, his body began glowing red, and an armor formed around him.

"Welsh Dragon Balance Breaker!" was announced.

Kiba noticed but continued amplifying his emotions while Boosted Gear repeated, "Boost, Boost, Boost, Boost."

The power kept increasing until Sword Birth began evolving to another stage.

[Over Booster] Sword Birth announced before breaking its shell.

[Balance Breaker: Unlimited Sword Birth]

Unlimited Sword Birth spread out like demonic magic circuits. Kiba started puking blood, but the spreading suddenly stopped, residing in Kiba's soul.

It sensed Kiba's fear of his Sacred Gear being stolen, Unlimited Sword Birth fused with his soul.

"What's that for?" Kiba smiled, realizing he had unlocked Balance Breaker within his two Sacred Gears. His emotions were running wild, but they slowly subsided.

He began breathing heavily, knowing that amplifying his emotions could hurt him mentally, but he managed because of the Sabertooth X-Gene.

"Glad that worked," Kiba muttered, sitting on the floor. "What about my creation?"

[0 Sword]

Kiba saw his sword reserve completely empty, despair filling his eyes at seeing his hard work vanish.

Ddraig noticed and asked, [What about your Devil Trigger?]

Kiba quickly transformed into his Sin Devil Trigger form, sighing in relief that it worked.

[My theory is that you forced your way to Balance Breaker, and it required some kind of sacrifice to balance it out,] Ddraig offered, even though this was his first time seeing such an event.

[But all my work disappeared just like that,] Kiba lamented.

Ddraig felt like laughing at Kiba's despair. [But congratulations on unlocking Balance Breaker.]

[Yeah,] Kiba sounded annoyed. [But back to your theory, why didn't Boosted Gear require a sacrifice?]

[I am a Longinus,] Ddraig replied arrogantly. [Do you think Boosted Gear will act like a normal Sacred Gear?]

"Tch," Kiba said, annoyed and frustrated.
