But Caesar refused, instead, he held tighter. "Why do you hurt me so much? Over and over again, you do it and each time, I fail to understand why. A world without you never existed, do you not understand? Even if it did, it's all gone, I can't even remember what it was like. How am I supposed to live without you? Why do you want to leave me?" 

"Day and night, you're all I think of, nothing else. That is how much control you have over me, that is what you do to me. Why can't you just understand that even if you put a knife to my chest, I wouldn't care. That is how much I love you."  The man had begun crying like a child, his tears falling onto her face. 

Adeline's eyes grew wide. She didn't know what to do and could only stare at him, this being the first time she'd ever seen him cry like this. He was like a child in that moment, something she'd never seen in him.
