"Sir, it is time for the banquet, your grandfather called again. If we don't leave now, I won't be able to cover for you when he calls again," John said. The pen in James's hand froze in midair, and he raised his gaze from the document on the desk and looked up at John. 

John nearly had a heart attack at how piercing his gaze was. 'Could he stop looking at him as if he were the devil himself coming from the pits of hell to take his life? Didn't he know his frigid glares could reduce someone's lifespan?'
