He had thought it would be some sort of sword, yet it wasn't; it somewhat resembled a mace, but maces generally have square bodies. This thing looked like a fine rod made up of bamboo-like segments, thinner in the front and thicker in the rear.

The thicker end was a bit smaller than an egg, and the front was as fine as the tip of a spear, about four feet in length, its entire body purple-red as if made of jade or crystal.
