Our protagonist has just begun High school and is going to Inarizaki High, the story takes place right after the third years of Inarizaki graduate and the Miya twins become third years.

A few months ago, Inarizaki High played in the spring tournament. They were one of the highly anticipated and favorites to win the tournament but fell short to the 'weird-duo' of Karasuno in the second round.

Kenji Hiroki just finished middle school and happened to be watching the match while deciding which school to commit to. After seeing the intensity of the players of Inarizaki and their playstyle, he decides to join them and has one goal in mind, to win nationals.
