The first youngling was lifted by a platform to begin his jump to the next one. He took a deep breath and jumped, but he failed. Shaak Ti caught him the minute he had fallen with the use of the force. The next youngling was up, and like the last, she failed.
Many younglings failed one after another to make the jump until one of them was able to succeed. His name was Ven Arson, he seemed very confident in his ability to utilized the force but Xytan recognized this youngling. He was the boy that was practicing his lightsaber skills yesterday under the watch of that master.
He continued to the next jump; jumping from one platform to another before finally reaching Sha Koon. The boy was panting by the time he reached her and sat down right next to her as she congratulated him.
But she told him to not let this go to his head and to remain humble and pure in his thoughts. Ven said 'yes, great master' respectfully before he started meditating in place. The others tried and failed, as usual, it was eventually Viola's turn and she also failed.
'Damn, everyone's failing!' Xytan knew they were new to this, but the failure rate was insane.
Jin was up next, he looked confident and excited. He exhaled before putting on a serious expression, then he went for his jump. Jin took off and successfully flipped onto the first platform before jumping to the next one soon after. He stayed focus and jumped to the next, but before he could reach the last, he came up short and fell down; being caught by Shaak Ti.
"Nooo~! I was so close!" Jin felt like crying, he had almost made it but he choked at the finish line.
"It's okay, you guys will be training like this often, and from now on. We'll be working on all forms of training until you can undergo your trials and eventually be picked by a Jedi Knight as a Master." Sha Koon assured them that they would have many opportunities to get this down, as this was apart of their training anyway.
Jin didn't feel so down knowing this, so he went back to smiling again.
Now...it was Xytan's turn, there were a few younglings behind him awaiting their turns eagerly. Xytan could utilize the force fairly well, so he channeled the power through his legs and did his jump.
Xytan jumped from platform to platform, he meditated every day so his connection with the force was good. And just to add a little spice to it, he flipped onto the last platform to complete his test.
"The little guy isn't all talk, that little showoff." Shaak Ti said in a low voice.
Viola and Jin gasped seeing Xytan make it, but Viola wasn't that surprised but happy. Jin was totally surprised though, he had to make that jump just like Xytan!
"Very good, but there's no need to be so flashy." Sha Koon was a little speechless, but this wasn't new to her at all, many younglings acted like this.
"Oh, sorry." Xytan only gave a stiff smile along with his reply.
The other younglings tried with another being able to make it. Only 3 younglings were able to pass on their first try, while the others had failed to make it to where Sha Koon was.
"No need to feel down, you'll be able to make it to the top as long as you keep focus and train yourselves." Sha Koon could see that some of the younglings were a bit disappointed with their failure.
"Xytan, I knew you were amazing, I just knew it!" Viola grabbed Xytan's hand and started jumping up and down in excitement.
"Not really, I just meditate and train often, you'll be able to do it in time. Failure, only makes us stronger." Xytan said as he looked at Jin and Viola.
"Right, I'll have to rely on the force to show me the path." Jin looked even more determined.
The younglings now had access to this room, with Sha Koon and some other Master watching over it always. She may substitute someone in to watch them if she has other things to do, but she was the watcher of this area.
Xytan heard a notification as he was jumping from platform to platform. Once he looked at his status, he saw that he had learned the new skill, which was Force Jump. The younglings could leave if they wanted to and come whenever.
Many of the younglings stayed to train, they wanted to make it to the top. Sha Koon just told them to take their time and try again, and that there wasn't a rush. Xytan decided to stay and practice because he wanted to ask Shaak Ti something.
The younglings tried and tried but none still succeeded in making it to the top. This went on for 2 hours until Shaak Ti told them to take a lunch and water break. As you may predict, Xytan took this time to go over toward Shaak Ti and ask her his question.
"I have a question, Master Ti." Xytan appeared behind Shaak Ti.
"Hmm, what is it, I hope it isn't anything ridiculous." Shaak Ti was meditating as usual. She opened her eyes and looked at Xytan with concern.
"Nothing dumb, I was just wondering if you could give me a few of those Lightsaber form manuals, so I can study them."
Xytan wanted and needed to have these skills in his arsenal or he wouldn't have them later as soon, and if push came to shove, he may have to buy them from the system. He wanted to save as many system points as he could, and use the points he got on things he wouldn't dream of getting regularly.
"Hmm... you're pretty eager to learn lightsaber combat when you don't even have a lightsaber yet." Shaak Ti looked Xytan in the eyes, and he stared right back into hers.
"Sigh, okay, but you can't say I didn't do anything for you." It wasn't a bad thing that he wanted to learn these things, so she agreed. Though it was recommended that they got the basics down first before moving on, she believed Xytan was ready.
"Hell, yeah!" Xytan said in a low voice.
"Excuse me, what did you say?" Shaak Ti's eyes flashed for a second as she eyed Xytan sharply.
"I said, heck yeah. Come on, can't you hear me, what do you think I said?" Xytan laughed dryly before telling her to give him every form manual before walking away.
Shaak Ti just stared at Xytan's back as he was about to exit the room. Viola was going to follow him, but he told her that she needed to train; this meant making it to the top of the platforms.
"Xytan, I can only give you a few of them, so I'll bring all the manuals for you to choose from." Shaak Ti stated before he could leave the room.
Xytan turned around and gave her the okay sign before leaving. He had basically succeeded in this part of his training by learning a new move he could just hone later.
Xytan was more concerned about his force and combat abilities than anything else. If he was born earlier, then he wouldn't feel so pressed, but sadly time was against him. As he was walking down the hallway, he saw many statues off to the side of Ancient Jedi.
They were gold hooded figures of Jedi holding lightsaber pikes in front of them. Their facial features couldn't be seen as the hood covered their faces. Xytan stared at them for a moment before going on his way.
Right then, a man could be seen coming down the hall towards Xytan's direction. Xytan took one look and instantly recognized the man on sight. He was bald with brown skin, he wore brown robes with a dark brown belt. His pants, which seemed to be tight white pants were going into his dark brown boots.
This could be no one else but Mace Windu!
Xytan had seen him 3 times before, so this would be his fourth time seeing him in person like this. Mace Windu was disciplined to destroy Sith on sight, this was the same for the entirety of the Jedi Order.
Honestly, this wasn't a good way of thinking, but Xytan understood why they thought like this. However, Luke's Jedi Order was different, he believed if you could be turned to the Darkside, then you can be reverted back. For the current Order, they didn't seek to redeem you, they would just kill you on sight and that was it.
"Oh, youngster, where are you heading at this time, aren't you suppose to be in class or something?" Mace looked at Xytan in question.
"I already completed what I needed to do, I just want to train my Lightsaber abilities." Xytan reply respectfully.
"Hmm, completing something doesn't mean you've perfected it, this is something you must never forget. There's no limit to what you or any Jedi can accomplish, so there is no complete, no one's complete, just live on and train more with focus."
"You're right, but I've also seen that you won't live on to accomplish much, Master Mace." Xytan smiled innocently at Mace Windu—as if what he said was natural.
One of Mace's eyes twitched, then he looked Xytan with surprise.
"Kid...what are you saying, what is the meaning of your words, is it a threat or something?" Mace Windu couldn't believe what this kid was saying, he was only like 7 or something.
"I saw it, I saw how you would die, you won't live long Master Mace, but you can change it." Xytan's comment was blunt.
"Haha, so that's what this was, you had some kind of vision or something? Youngster, visions can only be so believable to the point where they're only figments of our imagination, or just dreams. You should learn now that they're things that aren't meant to happen and things you shouldn't put faith in."
Mace Windu was a bit offended hearing that he was going to die from some youngster who could barely swing a lightsaber.
"Hmm, so it was like that, huh? Let me...show you, tell me if you can see it." Xytan reached out as if to touched the air, then cracks formed in the void like a broken mirror.
"I know the future."
Mace Windu looked on in shock!
