บท 104: Away from World

Reflecting on Thorne makes me recognize how distant I was from my own world. He had chosen the worst possible moment to contact me, and then I hadn't heard from him until days later when we were positioned near the Wall, ready for a charge or to defend one. That's when I suddenly thought of him and reached out.

"Thorne? It's me, Viktor."

"Howdy, Viktor. How's the army life treating you?"

"You should know."

"I tried to warn you."

"For the most part, I despise it," I confessed, "but when people attempt to kill me, I really detest it."

"It wasn't the trying to kill me part I disliked; it was everything else."

"I can relate to that. What did you want?"

"A guy wants to start a new game in our territory."

"A guy? Who?"

"Don't know him. Vorgan, seems like a small-timer. He's offering our usual cut and will handle his own protection, but I wasn't sure if that would be too many games for the area."
