Lysander held onto Nicasi's wrist as if to lock him by his side permanently. His gaze had regained some if not all of its usual cool focus.

He was just Lysander to Nicasi, but he was the Acolyte of Logic now to everyone else.

Galena was dead, and Lysander would be able to confirm how it happened once he went to the Hall of Logic and took command of the Flame. The day Lysander told her about Loma's vision, she swore to leave her final instructions there for him alone, hidden far from Ciprian's reach.

Her death was no doubt inflicted by the hands of the former Master that had betrayed them all, but the way she died wouldn't change the end result. And as terrible as the situation was, Lysander was born for this role.

He squeezed Lysander's hand and held it, trying to give him something through the simple touch. Not strength, exactly. That's not what he needed right now, though he would gladly give that, too.
