Carson followed his family out to his mothers car he had his own but since he knew he wasn't going anywhere he might as well just ride with them, tucking in the back he shouted 'MUSH' and the car took off. It didn't take long for the to reach the diner since they only stayed two miles from it, walking out Carson gave a low whistle the place looked like a seventies diner with the works.
After walking inside he couldn't help but laugh seeing the waitresses dressed in sky blue outfit, with a skirt that just touched above the knees and a shirt that had a little bird emblem that was a button up. He couldn't help but roll his eyes when he heard Queens- 'Another one bites the dust' which came out in 1980 so it didn't fit the setting of the diner at all, but he did like how it started when he walked it it gave him a little confidence which he really didn't need.
"CARSON!!!" His mom screamed in his ear pulling him from his thoughts, "why are you standing their like and idiot grab a tray and serve tables can't you see were slammed. Stop day dreaming and serve someone."
Carson couldn't help but cough he might be an immortal alpha wolf but to his mom he was just a little pup who would do whatever she said, nodding meekly he walked over to the window and grabbed the first thing he saw for table three. Walking over he stopped stunned but then started walking again with a smile on his face turning many heads of the teen girls who were sitting with friends but he didn't pay the any attention.
Instead he walked straight to table three where he saw the brunette protagonist who was shyly talking to her dad about expectations of school, going closer he put on his best smile. "Well here you are table three, although I'm not your waiter my name is Carson and I will be able to help with anything you need."
Her dad looked him over trying to place him but didn't have a memory of him and since this was a small town that was strange, "Nice to meet you I'm Charlie and this is my daughter Isabella. Are you new here?"
"Bella." She said with a quiet voice but confident.
"Haha yeah my parents are the owners of this diner we moved here last week but I haven't left the house since today. I was kind of mad at them for moving us out here but I have finally come around." Carson said scratching his head, the past him didn't even leave the house until today so of course it wasn't weird that no one really knew him hell the only friend he had was Alice and that was if you could even call them that.
"Ahh well this is my daughter Bella who just moved here to and I assume you are going to Forks high school too so why don't you guys become friends." He said with a nod crossing his arms like he is the smartest man ever.
I looked at Bella who couldn't help but roll her eyes at her dad but she was interested so she also nodded, "That sounds fine I don't know anyone other than Jacob here so it will be cool knowing someone who actually goes to my school."
Carson smiled that made many young women blush but since he was only looking at Bella he didn't even notice, "Sounds great looks like you are the second friend I made today too." He was going to stay longer to talk but a sudden shout from the kitchen aroused him back to reality so he had to check on it, "Well I should see what that was, I'll see you later Bella... and Bella's dad."
Carson lightly jogged to the kitchen and went in just in time to see the cook being escorted out with a burn injury on his hand that looked terrible, he saw his mom and dad were frantic on the side not from the money they would have to pay out but from the lose of the cook. "We don't have another cook right now what are we suppose to do?" His dad said pulling his hair a little with worry.
"We will have to just cancel the orders and close until we can find a replacement." His mom said on a sigh.
Neither one of them noticed that Carson had walked up to the stove wearing an apron and was working on a new burger for order, he took out seasoning and lightly coated the paddy before crushing some garlic. Since it was a garlic and lemon pepper burger he was going to try something different than what the other chef was doing, moving over to a fresh lemon he took it and started zesting it over the garlic letting the flakes fall into the same bowl.
He took the grinder and started grinding fresh black pepper along with it all but since he wanted to bring out the full flavor of the lemon since he crushed three garlic cloves he cut a lemon in half while squeezing a the juice into the bowl. He didn't stop there as he took the party cutting it half putting both in the bowl at different times, after they were fully coated he stuck two pieces of cheese between the party and set it on the grill to cook.
While that was going on he decided since it was lemon and garlic burger he needed something extra for the fries too. Since he was so caught up in his cooking he failed to notice the staff in the kitchen stop and watch what he was doing even his parents didn't stop him and were watching everything like this wasn't their kid. Going for the potatoes he peeled them all before seasoning them with ghost pepper salt that his dad kept for just in case moments, with them seasoned her fried them before salting them again with the stuff and putting it on the plate with the now mouth watering scent of the burger.
He didn't care who the food was for but used his best knowledge that with the spiciness of the fries the garlic in the burger would help to mellow it out while the lemon just acted as a ignition for the spice fries. Smiling he looked around to see everyone staring at him, laughing a little he called out, "order up." And let the waitress take the food to the table.
There was a moment of silence as they watched the man take a bite from the burger before rejoice when they saw he went into devour it along with the fries he looked in agony by the burning feeling but couldn't stop. Carson nodded in approval but decided that next time he cooked for someone he would tone it down and try not to burn their taste buds away.
He moved to take off the apron but his mom rushed to him stopping his movements, "What do you think you're doing we still have mouths to feed, and if you want to earn your allowance you will work here until we did a new chef so get to work."
Again he didn't know why but he couldn't say no to his mom so he just nodded meekly before swearing in his heart that once they found a new cook that he would never come here again.
