"So your name is Gin? What a strange name. But that's not important. Can you answer my questions now?"
The elven girl was genuinely curious about the "magic" Gin had used. Despite her extensive knowledge, she had never seen anything like what Gin displayed.
His magic perfectly defended against the poisonous dragon's corrosive breath, something even her magic barrier couldn't do.
It wasn't until now that she realized Gin seemed unaffected by the poisonous gas even without using any defensive magic.
"The magic I use... you can call it 'Kido.' It's a unique system of magic that only I seem to have mastered in this world. You can think of it as a kind of secret art.
As for why the poisonous dragon's gas doesn't affect me, it's because I have a 'magic immunity' ability. The gas, despite its strength, is still formed by magic, so it's natural it can't harm me."
The elven girl found it hard to believe at first. In a world where most people used magic, someone with 'magic immunity' would be almost invincible.
"Stop lying. When you faced the dragon's poison breath earlier, you clearly used some sort of magic to defend yourself."
She was referring to the moment Gin used the Kido spell 'Dankū' to block the dragon's breath at close range.
"Oh, you mean that? My body might be immune to magic, but my clothes aren't. The dragon's breath is highly corrosive. If it hit me at close range, I'd be in the same state as you are now."
Hearing this, the elven girl blushed deeply, remembering her current condition. Before she could respond, a third party appeared in the poisonous mist!
Given the remote location and the fact that the surrounding villages had marked this area as a forbidden zone due to the dragon, no one should have been around.
Both Gin and the elven girl watched cautiously as a figure emerged from the mist, their expressions turning to surprise.
Gin: "(￣￣) Yosuke?"
Elven Girl: "(゜_゜) A half-beast?"
Indeed, the newcomer was Yosuke, another otherworld traveler who had separated from Gin over a week ago.
Dressed in ragged white casual clothes with a red cloth strip around his neck like a scarf, Yosuke looked drastically different. In just a week, he had become gaunt, with sunken cheekbones, appearing twenty years older.
"Gin-san! You're here too? I guess you defeated the boss already. And who is this... sorry, it seems I've interrupted something. I'll take my leave."
Reuniting with Gin after ten days, Yosuke was initially excited. As fellow travelers from another world, Gin was like an old friend. Yosuke had hoped to catch up and boast about his survival and successes.
But upon seeing the crystalline barrier and the ragged elven girl inside, he quickly understood the situation and turned to leave, not wanting to intrude on what he assumed was an intimate moment.
Despite knowing little about such situations, Yosuke was a healthy young man and understood enough to make a quick exit.
"Wait a moment! You've got it all wrong! I have nothing to do with him!" the elven girl called out, desperate to clear the misunderstanding.
"Yosuke, don't be in such a hurry to leave. I was planning to check on you after finishing this mission. You look quite different from ten days ago..."
Gin's nonchalant tone contrasted with the elven girl's urgency. He saw no need to explain further, assuming Yosuke wouldn't care much about the situation.
The elven girl quickly changed into new clothes from her storage space and walked up to Yosuke, explaining, "Half-beast, let me make this clear. I have nothing to do with this greedy guy. He saved me, yes, but nothing else happened. Besides, he's greedy and opportunistic. Sure, he's handsome and strong, but I don't like him."
Yosuke didn't seem convinced and responded, "Miss, I think you're being unfair. Gin-san saved your life. Even if you don't like him, calling him greedy and opportunistic is too much. In games, completing a mission brings rewards, just like getting money or equipment for completing tasks. Isn't that normal?
Gin-san is a good guy. He saved me too and even shared his limited money with me."
The elven girl was clearly tsundere, but Yosuke, having come from a modern era where such traits weren't as prevalent, found her behavior incomprehensible.
