"I know what I said," Xeros bit down on his lip uncertainly. "But Isla, I don't think you get it."

"Get what?" I asked, my voice low.

He stared directly at me, with such intensity, I felt a small shiver run through me. "I love having both you and Devin in my life. And honestly..." His Adams apple bobbed up and down. "I don't think I'm quite ready to let you two go over something like this. I know it would be something I'd regret for the rest of my life."

It was in that moment that, as he stared at me, it hit me full force.

I was slowly falling in love with him.
