Chapter 101: Plain Jane

Jeremy stopped his car in front of Jo's bar and he followed the scent of Madeline Franklin until he could make out her features as she walked down the lonely path leading to the pack house.

"Diddy!" He yelled to get her attention but she just kept walking. "Diddy, wait up!" 

Defiance turned immediately and she saw him standing there looking as dashing as the day she first saw him shirtless under a full moon.

"Jeremy" 

her voice was a bare whisper.

"Yeah. It's me" He smiled at her revealing what she already knew to be angel white teeth.

"What are you doing in white oak?" She asked him.

"What do you think?"

Jeremy came closer and then his lips found hers.

The kiss came out of nowhere. Defiance didn't even have the time to think.

She knew she was vulnerable and in a bad place since he said goodbye yesterday And she should probably not kiss him back until she knew what the kiss meant.
