บท 6: CHAPTER SIX: BLOOD TIES

Liam followed Seth through the winding streets of Shadow Realm, taking in the sights and sounds of the Shadow Realm. As they turned a corner, Liam caught sight of a young girl with piercing green eyes and raven-black hair. She was standing in the doorway of a nearby building, watching him with an intense gaze.

Liam didn't notice her at first, too caught up in his own wonder and curiosity. But as he walked closer, the girl's gaze locked onto his, and he felt a shiver run down his spine.

"Hey, watch where you're going!" the girl snapped, her voice like a whip.

Liam stopped in his tracks, taken aback by her tone. "Sorry, I wasn't watching," he muttered.

The girl's eyes narrowed. "You're not even sorry. You're just a clumsy oaf."

Liam's face flushed with anger. "Hey, that's not fair. I said I was sorry."

The girl took a step closer, her eyes blazing. "You're not sorry. You're just a—"

Seth intervened, placing a hand on Liam's shoulder and another on the girl's. "Okay, that's enough. Selena, this is Liam. Liam, this is my daughter Selena."

Liam's eyes widened as he took in Selena's features. She was Seth's daughter? He looked at Seth, then back at Selena, feeling a mix of emotions: surprise, guilt, and a hint of fear.

Selena's expression softened slightly, but her eyes still sparkled with annoyance. "Nice to meet you, Liam."

Liam nodded, feeling a bit awkward. "Nice to meet you too, Selena."

As they stood there, Henri approached them, a somber look on his face. "Liam, can I talk to you for a minute?"

Liam nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation. What did Henri want to talk to him about?

As they walked away from Seth and Selena, Henri's expression turned grave. "Liam, I need to tell you something about your parents."

Liam's heart skipped a beat. What about his parents?

Henri took a deep breath. "Your father… he killed your mother. And he's been threatening to destroy the Shadow Realm."

Liam felt like he'd been punched in the gut. His father? A murderer? He stumbled backward, his mind reeling with shock and horror.

Henri caught him by the arm, holding him steady. "Liam, I'm sorry. I know this is a lot to take in."

Liam shook his head, feeling numb and disbelieving. He looked up at Henri, his eyes searching for answers. "Why? Why did he do it?"

Henri's expression was grim. "I don't know, Liam. But we're going to find out."

Liam's eyes blazed with anger as he processed Henri's words. His father, a murderer? He felt a cold, hard fury rising up inside him, and he knew exactly what he had to do.

"I'll kill him," Liam said, his voice low and deadly. "I'll destroy Steve, no matter what it takes."

Henri's expression turned grave. "Liam, don't say that. Vengeance won't bring your mother back."

Liam's face twisted in a cold, hard smile. "I don't care about bringing her back. I care about making Steve pay."

Henri placed a hand on Liam's shoulder, trying to reason with him. "Liam, listen to me. The path of vengeance is a never-ending cycle. It'll consume you, destroy you."

Liam shook off Henri's hand, his eyes flashing with anger. "You don't understand. You don't know what it's like to have someone take everything from you."

Henri's expression turned sad. "I do understand, Liam. But I also know that vengeance won't bring you peace. It'll only bring you more pain."

Liam's face hardened, his jaw clenched in determination. "I don't care about peace. I care about revenge."

Henri sighed, his eyes filled with a deep sadness. "Then I fear for your future, Liam. Vengeance will destroy you, and I won't be able to stop it."

Liam's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with a cold, hard light. "You don't have to stop it. I'll take care of Steve myself."

Henri's face fell, and he turned away, leaving Liam to his dark, vengeful thoughts.

Father, why didn't Liam have his shadow absorbed when you brought him here?" Selena asked, her curiosity piqued.

"Because his mother is my Elder Sister," her father replied, a hint of a smile on his face.

"You mean Aunt Shayla, mom's best friend?" Selena asked, surprised.

"Yeah," her father said, his eyes clouding over with memories.

"How come I never met her?" Selena asked, her voice filled with regret.

"When she came with baby Liam, you and your mother were away," her father explained.

"Mom told me she's stronger than you and that she's the nicest person in the world," Selena said, a smile on her face.

"Yeah, she was," her father said, his voice tinged with sadness.

"I wish I met her," Selena said, her eyes dropping.

"I need you to try your best to get along with Liam," her father said, his voice serious.

"He seems like trouble, why should I risk my neck for him?" Selena asked, her brow furrowed.

"Because he is family, and family stands by each other no matter what," her father said, his eyes locked onto hers.

"But Papa..." Selena started to protest.

"He has been alone since he was ten, living in a cave. You can only imagine how hard it has been for him. Please, Cupcake," her father said, his voice filled with emotion.

Selena rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "I hate it when you call me that."

Her father chuckled. "What? I could remember when you loved it."

Selena laughed, and her father joined in.

"So will you try?" her father asked, his eyes serious once more.

Selena nodded. "Of course. I got him."

Meanwhile, in a dark, damp chamber, a figure lay on a cold stone slab, their injuries slowly healing. Lucy, a skilled healer, stood over them, her eyes fixed on their face.

"How am I doing, Lucy?" the figure asked, their voice low and husky.

"Your injuries have fully healed. You are good to move around," Lucy replied, her voice firm and professional.

The figure's eyes snapped open, their gaze piercing. "Awesome. Anything to report?"

Lucy hesitated before speaking. "Seth The Kovo has taken your... Liam to the Shadow Realm."

The figure's face twisted in a snarl. "Just this once, I will let this mistake slide—I don't have a son."

Lucy's eyes dropped, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm sorry, My Lord."

The figure's voice dripped with venom. "So that rat didn't die with his whore mother, and now my best friend has taken in that bastard. Disgraceful, Seth, but I am not surprised."

Lucy spoke up again, her voice cautious. "Should I send Shane after him?"

The figure's laughter was cold and mirthless. "Seth will destroy Shane. Let them enjoy the moment for now."

This week marked a month since I arrived in the Realm. I'd been training hard with Seth's guidance, honing my skills and building my strength. I needed to get strong if I was going to kill my father.

Seth wasn't taking it easy on me—not that I wanted him to. I was able to control my shadow and surrounding shadows with ease, but I was still struggling to open a portal—a frustrating limitation.

According to Seth, I was genius when it came to Shadow Manipulation, and I could surpass him and my mom one day. I didn't know if he really meant that, but it made me feel a surge of pride.

I hadn't seen Seth today. He was probably sneaking around the women's hot spring—most of the time, I wished one of the women he peeped on would kill him in the most brutal way.

"How's his training going?" Henri asked, his voice low and serious.

"Surprisingly well. The boy has a knack for Shadow Manipulation," Seth replied, a hint of pride in his voice.

"Well, he is her son," Henri said, a small smile on his face.

"Yeah, but he's still finding it hard to create a portal," Seth said, his brow furrowed.

"That should have been the easiest thing for him," Henri said, his eyes narrowing.

"Yeah, but for some reason, it's the hardest. He's so stupid," Seth said, laughing.

"A minute ago, you called him a genius," Henri pointed out, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"Yeah, well, Liam is many things," Seth said, staring at the roof.

"Why don't we have Selena teach him for a change?" Henri suggested, a hint of mischief in his voice.

"You know they don't get along," Seth said, his expression serious.

"Something tells me Liam will listen to her," Henri said,

"Well, you'll be the one to tell her, not me," Henri said with a chuckle. "And I don't see Liam obeying her instructions."

As if on cue, Selena emerged from a portal, her eyes flashing with annoyance. She had been staying with her mother at her school, but it seemed she had returned.

"Just the girl we were talking about," Seth said, a hint of wariness in his voice. "How's Helen?"

"She's fine," Selena replied, her gaze narrowing at Seth. "Mama said she'll kill you next time she sees you."

Seth's face paled, and he began to sweat. "Oh damn," he muttered.

Henri raised an eyebrow. "What did you do?"

Selena's smile was sweet but deadly. "He forgot their date night. Oh, and Mama said she'd love to meet Liam."

Seth's eyes darted to Henri, who was trying to stifle a grin. The tension was broken, and the mood shifted to a more lighthearted tone.

As the conversation died down, Henri's expression turned serious. "Seth, have you heard anything about Steve?"

Seth's face darkened, and he rubbed the back of his neck. "No... I doubt he's ever coming back here."

The conversation hung in the air, heavy with unspoken concerns. Henri's eyes narrowed, and he seemed to be weighing his next words carefully.

Seth broke the silence, his voice cautious. "Selena, I need to ask you something."

Selena's eyes narrowed, her expression wary. "What is it?"

"I need you to teach Liam how to create portals," Seth said, his eyes locked onto hers.

Selena's face twisted in disgust. "You want me to teach him? After what he did?"

Seth's expression turned serious. "Selena, I know you're upset, but Liam needs your help. And I need you to do this for me."

Selena's eyes flashed with anger, but she seemed to be considering Seth's words. After a moment, she nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. "Fine. But I'll kill him if he doesn't obey me."

Seth's smile was wry. "Use every means necessary."

Selena nodded, then turned to leave. "Okay, later Papa."

"Where are you going?" Seth called after her.

"He's at the old training arena, right?" Selena replied, already knowing the answer.

Seth nodded. "Yeah, that's where I left him."

Selena's portal swirled to life, and she stepped through it, disappearing from sight.
