Li Changhe noticed the stare of the receptionists and chuckled internally.
"As expected, after showing off by completing twelve high-star tasks in one night, they could no longer ignore us. They're probably looking into our identities," said Li Changhe, looking towards a side door that had just opened. A man dressed as a servant approached him.
He spoke respectfully, "Mr. Li Ba, the director is ready."
Li Changhe nodded, rose to his feet, and followed him to the guild's conference room to meet the city's guild director.
He was an old man, around sixty years old, seated in a wheelchair. Despite his age, he looked fit and energetic.
When Li Changhe entered the room, the old man was cleaning a short sword.
"Thirty years ago, I became a gold-level adventurer. Achieving gold level at the age of thirty was a remarkable achievement," the old man began, "Sadly, I was hit by an arrow in the knee during a task, which ended my adventuring career."
He patted his left leg as he said this.
