Kai went back to the Inn and then quietly snuck into his room. He could sense that Ryu had also returned, so he extended his Qi-Sense to ensure that nobody had followed them.

"Good, looks like we got away with our a little heist," Kai smiled as he pulled out the strange orb and analyzed it again. He could tell that it was curiously sensing its surrounding.

Kai had been worried that the Illusion Demon, Jie, might have resurrected itself. However, after carefully analyzing the orb, he concluded that there were no traces of Jie's Qi left in it. Whatever this thing was, it was a completely new lifeform.

'Hi there...' Kai sent his thoughts to the orb through his connection.

The orb received it and seemed pleased but clearly did not understand him.
