บท 54: An Even Deeper Scar

Did her view of him change? Aviana Valos was rendered surprised and confused by Evan's question at first. But when she noticed the little fear and insecurity in his eyes, she understood what was going on in his mind.

She knew that his story was an unexpected and strange one but...

"Do you see me as that kind of person, Evan Livares?" She simply asked him back in a calm voice. "Maybe you see me as some spoiled brat who judges people on their origin."

Taken aback by her surprise, Evan Livares practically blinked. "I don't -"

"I believe in what I see," Aviana Valos interrupted. "I might be young but because of the family I belong to, I've seen many kinds of people. Some are worse despite hailing from a decent family. Some hide an ugly nature beneath their kind smile while some are full of themselves. All those people came from good families. So, I've long realized that it's not always about blood or family. We all choose what kind of person we are."
