I woke up early, the room still shrouded in pre-dawn darkness. Elena was sound asleep beside me, her breathing even and soft.

I took a moment to watch her, the serene expression on her face a stark contrast to the storm of thoughts that always swirled in my mind. Silently, I slipped out of bed and headed for the bathroom, determined not to disturb her.

After a quick shower, I dressed in a tailored black suit that exuded authority and precision. I meticulously adjusted my tie in the mirror, ensuring everything was perfect. Today was going to be a long day, and I needed to be at my best.

I couldn't afford any distractions, especially not from my mother, who would undoubtedly want to discuss my relationship with Elena. I didn't have time for that nonsense.

I made my way to the office, the morning air crisp and invigorating. The drive was uneventful, giving me time to mentally prepare for the meetings ahead.
