บท 9: CHAPTER 9
"Does anyone want to go try going first?" Mr. Maple said.
Even though most of them were ready for this, it seems they're all still a bit nervous to go first. I guess I should go first, but me doing the hardest level might not help them with their confidence.
Should I just do very hard? No, I can't hold back now. I have to be at the top. I know for a fact my friends won't back down just because they want to help people they don't know out.
We're going to be top of our classes. Even if it might cause suspicion. "I'll go, I guess," I said.
"Thank you, which mode would you like to try?" My adviser said. "Can you put it on royal mode?" I insisted. "Woah, are you sure you want to do that? Points are needed to get in and the more the better. If you fail to last the simulation you will fail and not get any points." Mr. Maple said.
"Oh don't worry about me, I can handle it. Trust me. Might as well right? The more points the better." I stated. "Are you sure Dawn, you seem like an amazing girl, if I pass these trials and get into the Academy I want to be friends." Hazel reassured.
Wow. Hazel really is a sweet girl. She hardly knows me and she wants to be my friend. Maybe her people skills are pretty good. I looked at her with a bit of shock, but then looked at her reassuringly. "I've got this. Just believe in me. Pinky promise?" I said lifting up my pinky.
She was hesitant at first but looked me in the eyes and saw how serious I am. She decided to trust me and let out a nervous sigh. "Fine, you better do ok," Hazel said. I nodded in response to her.
He proceeded nervously to the control panel and switched the difficulty to royal. I stepped into the chamber and saw there's a little upper level where the robots could run and hide, but since their robots, they could appear anywhere.
"Ok Dawn, I'll be starting the simulation now. So get ready, in three, two, one." Maple said while starting my trial.
I didn't know whether or not to transform because I've never practiced. It was supposed to have a modification from my old fairy form and so I don't know the new phrase.
I just summoned my bow and quiver to start aiming for incoming robots. Right on cue, a robot showed up beside me with just his fists so we fought in physical combat. I used my bow like a staff and kept pushing away its attacks.
I punched its face and hit the front glass. Quickly after another bot was running towards me and I bent down to lift it off the ground. I tossed the robot body on the floor and continued to grab an arrow and shoot it in the head.
I powered up my arrow for a little more flair since adviser Maple said to maybe put on a show and made it blast sun rays around the room. "Sunbeam!" I yelled out.
I backed away to breathe but stiffening up, remember there's no rest on the battlefield, and since this is the royal mode, I should be thinking like a princess.
I see more bots coming and slid on the ground hitting their feet to lose their balance and fall, but instead, they just roll on the ground and stand right up. I kicked with my right leg first and jumped up to kick again at the first robot.
I turned around and ducked avoiding another kick and I hit him with a lightning arrow. I flipped backward keeping away from a powerful punch and pushed the machine with my two feet continuing to shoot the bots on the ledge.
I cleared out the bots above and soon more bots came in running. I rolled to the ground and got up on my knees then shot most of the bots with an arrow with a multiplying enchantment so more than one arrow got shot and hit the targets right in the head.
I stood up and fought with another robot hand to hand. We both clashed fists as we both dodge and hit the other but I had to end it quickly as more and more robots crowd around. I ran for the wall and ran up it and swiftly propelled myself back down with a slight push from my foot.
I grabbed another arrow and rushed it into the ground with a quick movement. "Blooming field!"
From all the rushed power coming from the arrow, the energy collapsed all of the robots in a close radius. Since it was an enclosed room I didn't put too much power into it.
I raced to the ledge to get some high ground and was caught by two robots on each side of me. I engaged in a fight with the bot to my left and kicked it in the chin and it raised it up from the floor. I took the bot's hand and spun it around and threw it at the machine incoming.
I flipped back down from the overhang and the simulation seemed to be over. No more bots were being generated and the lighting got a bit dimmer.
I could see my instructor gesturing to me to come back outside the room as well as my fellow group members in complete shock. I'm guessing they really weren't expecting me to be able to pass this.
I kept my bow on my back with my quiver and walked out the glass door. No one really had any words when I walked out but I can see slay a little irritated. What did I do to that guy?
"That was incredible Dawn! How did you learn to move like that? As well as those arrows?" Adviser Maple exclaimed. "I've been training ever since I was a kid, so I guess all that hard work paid off," I answered.
I guess what I said was true so I wasn't technically lying. I just left out the very important part of me being a Princess of a kingdom and have a way higher power level than the regular person.
"To explain the arrows, I just enchant them with my own power," I said. "Those were some incredible moves and powers their Dawn, you're for sure going to get full marks from this test." Mr. Maple stated.
I see I really stunned everyone, but to be honest I didn't try that hard. My idea a while ago was correct where I could've beaten this a couple of years ago. This test was pretty neutral compared to the stuff I had to do on missions and against my own family members.
"Dawn you didn't even use a Divine Charm to transform into your advanced form. Was it that easy?" Hazel questioned.
I can't tell them that even without the Charm at my disposal right now I still have loads of power, that'll be a dead giveaway.
"Well, it wasn't easy, I was just able to do it because of all the years of difficult training. I didn't want to go all out if it wasn't needed. I would've transformed if I needed to obviously. I don't recommend doing royal mode if you're not one hundred percent confident you'll be able to handle it." I exclaimed.
Hopefully, that was a good enough answer to convince them that they should do something more reassuring so they can get more points and join SDA.
"I'm sure it wasn't that hard if you were able to do it." Slay said. "What is your problem dude? You should congratulate Dawn. I bet she trained hard for today and it worked out." Hunter stated.
"Thanks Hunter," I said with gratitude, with a little calming feeling. "I'm going to go next, and I choose to do Royal mode." Slay insisted.
"Ok go into the room and I'll get it ready for you." Mr, Maple said.
What is this guy's deal? "Don't mind him, Dawn, I'm sure he's just jealous of how well you did," Hazel stated. "Right," I answered.
I wonder how he'll do? Let's see what he's got.
