บท 117: BURNING DESIRE AND MUCH AWAITED FANTASY

Bertha followed Gerald though she was the one who was supposed to show him the way. She didn't even get time to gather all the broken pieces of her heart before she had to follow him to make sure he reached Theodora on time.

She must be waiting for him.

This time Filch didn't support Gerald and sat on Bertha's shoulder instead. Because he too knew that Bertha was not at fault, but Gerald was too dense to handle the situation as a gentleman should do.

Bertha stopped as they reached Zerith's house, which looked more presentable than before now. She noticed that the coachman hadn't yet returned from the mansion, or perhaps Theodora had ordered him to not come back tonight.

Bertha's chest became heavy, and her eyes stung again. But she had to keep on with this play.

Gerald turned to face her. His face was void of any expressions, and his sparkling green eyes, which always held playfulness in them now looked cold as cold in the winter.
