บท 40: Too fast
This time we shift in on the bed and I freeze. "Wait.. wait Rune.." He stops and pulls back to look at me. I see the heat in his eyes and all the dark promises they hold and I shiver. "It's too fast.. can we get to know each other first?" He frowns and says "Don't we already know each other?" I struggle to come up with a good answer with him leaning over me like this. His larger frame completely covering my smaller one.
He sees me struggling and sighs before dropping his head next to mine on the bed."I'll wait until you're ready love." He says and rolls over pulling me into his arms next to him. He kisses the top of my head and says "Just let me hold you like this for a little bit. I won't bite.. unless you want me too." I giggle nervously knowing he means every word. I like him but he also scares me a bit.
I don't really know him but from what I do know I don't think he'd ever hurt me. But the man is old... really old. Sure he looks like he's in his late twenties or early thirties but I can't even begin to think about all the women he's been with or the things he's seen and done. Why does he say he likes me?
"Why are you so quite? What's going through that pretty little head of yours?" Rune says softly against my ear causing me to blush.
I hesitate for only for a moment before saying "I'm wondering why someone like you is interested in someone like me.." I've never really been one to beat around the bush. If we were really going to be in a relationship together then I'd prefer both of us to be open and honest. He pulls back so that he can look me in the eyes. He gently traces my jaw.. my nose and then stops at my lips.
"I like everything about you Syn. Your body.. your hair.." He brings a piece of my hair up to his lips and kisses it while taking a deep breath. "I love your smell.. your soft skin.. your kissable lips and your beautiful eyes but most of all I fell in love with the soul I see shining fiercely in those beautiful eyes. I love YOU." His golden eyes look like molten lava and the way he looks at me.. really sees me... shakes me to the core.
His intensity scares me but I can't look away. I find myself really looking at him for the first time.. Seeing him. This powerful man likes me.. no, he said love. Me. In his arms laying on his bed I'm surrounded by his warmth and his addictive smell. I feel safe.. I feel like I just found a new home and that new home was Rune. He gives me a small smile before leaning down and kissing me.
I kiss him back running my hands up his muscled chest enjoying the feeling. He pushes me over and lifts himself over me again pressing his body against me. He's careful to keep most of his weight off me as he kisses me again. I realize I've never seen him without a shirt and an evil grin breaks across my lips. He feels me smile and starts to smile as well. I grab for the end of his shirt and slowly bring my hands up enjoying the feeling. I feel him shudder and he deepens the kiss.
A knock at the door has us both freezing. He pulls back and I see the dark desire in his eyes and I find that I'm liking the look more and more. I smile and his breath catches. There's a moment of silence that passes between us both and I feel like he's on an edge... an edge he's about to fall off of. I break the stare and look to the door when I hear another knock.
"It's seems important." I say looking back at him and I realize he still hasn't taken a breath. Finally moving he says "Both worlds better be ending..." He growls and pushes off the bed walking away. I roll over and sit up trying to calm my racing heart as he speaks to someone in a low voice.
After a minute he shuts the door and turns to look at me. "I need to go take care of a few things.. don't wander off again okay?" I give him a devious smile and say "Okay." He squints and stares at me before sighing and shifting away. We're gonna have to work on his controlling personality.
