บท 93: Frowning Bride

The ceiling had never looked this enthralling to Damien who stared at it without blinking. He tried his best, but failed. He could not ignore the heat coming from his left side. The woman had closed his eyes, he was sure of it. Yet, he did not dare to look at her because no matter how she acted, he could hear her uneven breathing. 

She was not able to sleep either. But the thought that she was taking the initiative this time despite the past she had faced, made her so brave and he… despite knowing everything was lying to her made him a coward. Ha! Who said that size matters when it comes to bravery.

Another sigh escaped his lip and she fluttered her eyes open.

"Are you not comfortable, my lord?" her soft voice whispering into his ears made him embarrassed. 

"I am fine, Evangeline. It is just new to me." she nodded, accepting and closed her eyes again as if she was full of sleep.
