The news soon spread like a wildfire. Evan had attacked Elene in the graveyard when the sisters had gone to pray for the soul of their father.

Many knights had witnessed the scene. Charlotte was called by a knight and she had found Evan holding the dagger when she reached there. Elene was still unconscious and her life was hanging on a thin thread.

Everyone was worried about her life. But more than that, they were interested in the woman who did it. Everyone wanted gossip. It would prove that they were better than Evan, her family and her position.

"I was always doubtful about the sisters. I thought that the eldest was jealous of the younger one. But the investigative officer said otherwise. If Elene was at fault why would the elder miss would hurt her?" said a man when others nodded. They were collected in the tea house to discuss business. But gossip seems more interesting.
