Cherie's face brightened with that thought. Her eyes glimmered as if she was the one having a child here.

"Should I call the physician? He would confirm it for us." there might be another factor like late periods or tensions that had stopped her cycle. It was not uncommon but how Cherie wished that Eve was pregnant.

"No, and no one should know about it. Not even Damien or other maids. You are going to keep this secret, Cherie." she warned. Her expressions were so cold that they stunned Cherie for a second. She had thought that the duchess would be happier and excited with the news but it looked like she had eaten something nasty which she would neither spit or swallow.
