บท 59: Sneaking Around

Lexzandra has no idea where the court is, so she wanders the corridors, opening a few rooms only to find them empty.

The search is slow and frustrating, each wrong room adding to her impatience. She takes a left turn after wandering for about fifteen minutes along the same hallway, her legs growing weary from the effort and the heavy gown weighing her down.

The fabric of her dress rustles with each step, and she can feel the perspiration beginning to bead on her forehead.

Up ahead, she spots a pair of double doors just a short distance away. They look imposing and out of place compared to the other doors she's encountered.

The doors are closed, but as she nears, she notices one is slightly ajar, allowing a sliver of light to spill out into the dim corridor.

Lexzandra tiptoes to the door, gulping softly as she peeks inside. She pushes the door just enough to see through, her pulse quickening with the risk of being caught.
