Michael Donovan hovered in the endless expanse of nothingness, the sensation of floating in the void unsettling. His last memory was a blinding flash—a car accident, maybe? The details blurred, but it didn't matter now. He was dead. Gone. Lost to whatever lay beyond the mortal coil.
Or so he thought.
"You're not finished," a voice cut through the emptiness, soft yet commanding.
Michael's body tensed—if he even had a body anymore. "Who said that?" he called out, his voice swallowed by the surrounding void.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the darkness. It wasn't a human figure—it was more like a shimmering form of light, neither male nor female, its presence overwhelming.
"You have potential, Michael. Far more than you realize," the voice said again, coming from the radiant form.
"Potential?" Michael scoffed. "I'm dead, aren't I? How much potential can a corpse have?"
The figure chuckled, a sound that filled the void. "Your life on Earth might be over, but what if I told you it wasn't the end? What if you could live again—start fresh?"
Michael's mind raced. Start fresh? He hadn't exactly been killing it back on Earth. A normal life, barely scraping by. He had dreams—big dreams—but nothing ever seemed to stick.
"What's the catch?" Michael asked, cautious but intrigued.
"No catch, only choice," the voice replied smoothly. "A new world, a new life. One filled with speed, adrenaline, and opportunity. Hollywood, but not as you know it."
Michael frowned, trying to make sense of the cryptic offer. "Hollywood?"
"Yes," the figure continued. "A world where fast cars, danger, and the thrill of the race define your existence. You'll be reborn—ten years before the events of the world you know as Fast and Furious."
Michael's heart skipped a beat. Fast and Furious? He remembered watching the movies, growing up on the exhilarating action, the family ties, the street races. It was all fiction… or so he thought.
"Why me?" Michael asked, still uncertain. "Why give me this chance?"
The figure's glow softened. "Because you can change things. You can become something more. But it's up to you."
Michael swallowed hard. A second chance at life? The temptation was undeniable.
"I'll do it," he said, his voice firm despite the swirl of emotions inside him.
The figure's light intensified, engulfing him. "So be it. But before you go—take this."
Suddenly, Michael felt a pulse of energy, something powerful and ancient coursing through him.
