บท 29: Chapter 29: Invite
As the crowd pointed at him, Uchiha clan members felt overwhelmed with shame and struggled to stand up.
Staring into Orochimaru's disdainful eyes, Uchiha Ken's anger surged, and he unconsciously formed hand seals, nearly unleashing a torrent of flames at Orochimaru's face!
"Are you planning to set fire and escape?" Orochimaru was surprised.
"You dare to set fire to Konoha Hospital? Do you have a death wish?" Orochimaru had already sensed a small group of Konoha Guard ninjas approaching.
Uchiha also grew anxious. He realized he had gotten himself into a precarious situation while attempting to intimidate people with his Fire Release jutsu.
"Orochimaru, what are you doing... Huh? Who are you?" Tsunade appeared to assess the situation and found four embarrassed Uchihas standing in front of Orochimaru.
"Little brats, who are you... um? Wait, you are...!" Uchiha was about to retort but suddenly realized this wasn't the little nobody of Konoha but Princess Tsunade Hime? !
"What did you say!" Tsunade's fist seemed to carry a terrifying force, and the four Uchihas trembled, recalling the fear they had of her iron fists!
"Enough, let's stop." The real boss of Medical Department, Koharu Utatane, arrived.
"Humph! Uchiha Kyo, are you just here to watch the show?" Koharu asked, turning his attention to another Uchiha clan's member.
Another ninja, also dressed as an Uchiha, appeared in front of Koharu. He bowed slightly and said, "Greetings, Koharu-sama. This is Orochimaru... a little brother from our Uchiha clan. The Third Elder has a matter he wishes to discuss with him, and he would greatly appreciate his presence."
Uchiha Kyo showed a humble attitude, but his eyes remained indifferent as he looked at Orochimaru. He was a capable subordinate of the Third Elder, and this matter was crucial for Ken, leaving no room for failure, which is why he accompanied them.
"Orochimaru, what do you say?" Koharu turned her gaze to Orochimaru, knowing he was a student from her medical department and couldn't just ignore the situation.
"Alright." Orochimaru didn't inquire further.
"Take all your people and stay away from my medical department!" Koharu asserted, her demeanor commanding, and ushered Uchiha Ken away from the scene.
Tsunade frowned, concern flickering in her eyes.
Orochimaru followed the group to an elegant teahouse, guarded by several Uchiha ninjas. The walls were adorned with black curtains embroidered with the Uchiha clan fan emblem, and two braziers were set up.
Clearly, this was the work of the Third Elder. It seemed he had not brought Orochimaru to the Uchiha clan for some trival reason, hence the makeshift teahouse.
Inside a spacious private room, the décor showcased a combination of red and black, and Orochimaru entered with Uchiha Kyo.
An old man sat at the head of the conference table, leisurely preparing a pot of tea.
The old man had an unassuming appearance, dressed in a coarse robe. His swift and precise movements while brewing the tea hinted at his expertise.
The old man didn't even spare them a glance, instead enjoying the tea all by himself. Orochimaru remained composed, sensing that this old man possessed Jōnin-level chakra and had likely been a formidable figure in his prime. His gaze remained fixed on Orochimaru.
"You must be Orochimaru, quite young and promising. Please, have a seat. I am the Third Elder," the old man reclined in his chair, a leisurely smile on his face. "I'm an old man who enjoys making tea. I used to be a ninja, and I've shed much blood in my time. I just hope that more tea will wash away some of the stench of my past."
The Third Elder laughed, draining the remaining tea from the pot.
"Oh," Orochimaru responded, expressionless.
"I've heard that your mental power is quite formidable. Is that true?" the Third Elder inquired.
"It's alright," Orochimaru responded, though his heart froze. While he didn't intentionally conceal it, was it possible for the Uchiha to notice so quickly?
The Third Elder fixed his gaze on Orochimaru. "Then I wonder if you'd allow me to test it a bit?"
With those words, his eyes widened involuntarily, and the three tomoe in his pupils spun rapidly. A chilling mental force directly assaulted Orochimaru!
This old man wants to test me? Orochimaru felt a slight tingling, a momentary numbness, and then... nothing. His mental power had dispersed the force!
Seeing that Orochimaru seemed unharmed, the Third Elder's excitement grew. "Amazing! Truly amazing! Your mental strength was able to resist my illusion. You are indeed a genius!"
The Third Elder had only used 50% of his strength in the attempt, having little hope. To his astonishment, Orochimaru broke free from the illusion while appearing a bit exhausted. Such mental strength was astonishing!
To withstand Uchiha's genjutsu, boosted by the Sharingan, even Shikamaru dared not look directly at Sasuke's Sharingan. If caught, one would be trapped in the illusion until freed by a teammate.

"Do you know about my eyes?" The Third Elder gazed at Orochimaru but refrained from attacking this time.
"Your three-tomoe sharingan, what about it?"
"Each Uchiha has the potential to awaken these powerful eyes, one of the most powerful bloodline limit in ninja world. However, not everyone can unlock them." The Third Elder's eyes returned to their normal state. "Many clan members with poor talent may never open the Sharingan in their lifetime. Most of them can only achieve one or two tomoe when they awaken their eyes, and only a few can reach three tomoe." The Third Elder sighed.
"And unlocking the Mangekyou Sharingan is even rarer." The Third Elder thought.
"And then?" Orochimaru asked, impatient for the point.
"While the three tomoe sharingan is formidable, it's also known as the 'Eye of the Curse.' Aside from talent, intense emotions like anger and pain can trigger the evolution of these eyes." The Third Elder patiently explained.
"What does this have to do with me?"
"It has everything to do with you!" The Third Elder became excited. "We know how the eyes evolve, and for generations, we've been searching for shortcuts to unlock them. We've tried various methods like intimidation, illusions, and even more extreme approaches."
The Third Elder sighed. These were no secrets. In their attempts to unlock the eyes for their descendants, some powerful clan members had even developed powerful genjutsu to use on them. However, genjutsu only manipulated the five senses and misled the perception of spiritual power usage. The core reason for the lack of evolution was the insufficient spiritual power or the absence of Yin-attribute chakra. Blindly stimulating them might drive individuals mad without unlocking the eyes.

The Third Elder's grandson, Uchiha Ken, was not talented enough to unlock the two-tomoe Sharingan, and the clan had spent considerable resources trying to stimulate him. If he were to try to unlock the three-tomoe Sharingan, he might never achieve it in his lifetime. Thus, the Third Elder came to Orochimaru.
