บท 15: Chapter 15 : The Ties That Bind

In the hallowed halls of the Lycanth Royal Castle, Satoru, now known as Simha, faced the remnants of his past. The family he had left behind was a tapestry of sorrow and strife, woven with threads of political intrigue and personal sacrifice.

His mother, a woman of quiet strength, had been a maid before becoming a concubine to the king. Her status had always been a point of contention, her lineage the subject of whispered scorn among the nobility. Yet, she carried herself with an unwavering dignity that commanded respect.

Simha's sister, a delicate flower forced to bloom in the harsh light of political expediency, had been married off to the elves' kingdom. The seventh prince, notorious for his licentious ways, had taken her as one of his many wives—a fate she had accepted for the sake of peace between the kingdoms.

The revelation of his sister's plight ignited a fire within Simha. He had fought against injustice in Ebonwood, and now he found it festering in his own bloodline. His confrontation with the king, his father, was as inevitable as it was heartbreaking.

"**Father,**" Simha spoke, his voice echoing through the chamber, "**how could you barter my sister's happiness for political gain? Is the honor of our family so easily traded?**"

The king's response was a mask of regal indifference. "It is the way of kingdoms, my son. Sacrifices must be made for the greater good."

But Simha would not be swayed. "There is no greater good in sacrificing the innocent. I cannot—and will not—stand idly by."

The clash of wills led to Simha's exile, a punishment deemed fitting for his defiance. Cast out to Ebonwood, he was to be a lord without a kingdom, a prince without a crown.

The stepmother and her children, envious of Simha's mother and sister, reveled in his downfall. Their hatred was a poison that tainted the very air of the castle, a reminder of the fractured family Simha was leaving behind.

As Simha departed, his mother's tearful embrace and his sister's silent plea haunted him. He vowed to protect them, even from afar, and to right the wrongs that had been done to them.

The chapter closes with Simha returning to Ebonwood, the weight of his family's troubles heavy on his shoulders. Yet, amidst the turmoil, he found solace in the empathy he felt for his mother and sister. Their pain was his pain, their struggle his struggle. In Ebonwood, he would build a haven not just for his villagers, but for the family he hoped to one day bring home.
