บท 187: Chapter 187

"You liars, all of you are liars! Where are you hiding my daughter?" Fu Yunran clutched her husband's arms tightly, her eyes filled with rage and resentment.

"Ran'er, calm down, calm down. I'll take you to find Xiaoyin. If you listen to me, I'll take you to her," Feng An coaxed gently.

Fu Yunran remained unmoved. "I don't believe the words of a liar. I just want my daughter. You're all liars!"

Seeing that she was about to start up again, Feng An quickly pulled her into a tight embrace, holding her firmly in his arms. He let her hit him as much as she wanted, without letting go, and kept soothing her with his words.

"Ran'er, she really has come back. No one can deceive you, no one can take Xiaoyin's place. Our daughter has truly returned."

Half an hour later, Fu Yunran finally calmed down. Perhaps she was tired, or maybe she had really listened to what he said.

Before falling asleep, she kept repeating one sentence.

"We must bring Xiaoyin back. We must bring her back."

Feng An gently stroked his wife's face, his usually cold eyes filled with tenderness. His voice was soft, "We will."

On the other side, Owen had just finished shooting his last scene of the day and returned to his trailer, where his assistant nervously handed him his phone, saying, "Brother Jing, it's your father's call."

Owen was taken aback. What could the old man want?

"Hello," Owen greeted indifferently.

Feng An's authoritative and cold voice came through the phone, "I just called your brother, but he didn't pick up. I'm telling you now: once you find Xiaoyin, bring her back home immediately, as quickly as possible."

"Wait! What did you just say? Xiaoyin? You found my sister? When did this happen?" Owen was stunned.

Feng An paused. "You didn't know?"

Damn it, so everyone else knew, and he was the only one left in the dark?

Owen was furious, feeling as though the entire world had abandoned him.

It seemed they were all a family, and he was just an outsider.

"And where exactly is this so-called sister of mine?" Owen's tone was filled with disdain.

"Don't do anything rash," Feng An warned, frowning.

"How could I dare!" Owen sneered.

"Your brother is already on his way to Oceanic City. After you reach them, pass on my message," Feng An said before hanging up abruptly.

Staring at the phone that had just been heartlessly disconnected, Owen felt a wave of gloom wash over him. The thought of that newfound sister returning made him feel nothing but disdain, yet he said aloud, "Inform the director that I need to take care of something and will be gone for two days."

His assistant Rhett nodded repeatedly.

Owen drove through the night towards Oceanic City, muttering to himself, "I'm going to see Zuri, not that newfound sister of mine."

Should he find out more about this so-called sister first?

Owen dialed Nolan's number, calling several times with no answer. Just as he was about to give up, the call was finally answered.

"What is it?" Nolan asked in a businesslike tone.

The moment Owen heard his brother's fatherly tone, he felt irritated.

"I heard you found that newfound sister of mine. What's she like? Is she easy to get along with? If not, I'm not acknowledging her. Never mind, I'll just go play with Zuri. You can call me when you're done with the reunion." Owen rambled on, completely unaware that his emotions were in turmoil.

Nolan calmly uttered one sentence, "The newfound sister you're talking about is Zuri."

*Screech*...

The sound of tires violently scraping against the road echoed in the night as Owen's car nearly collided with the guardrail.

"What did you say?!!"

Owen almost dropped his phone as his hand shook. His usually carefree younger brother's reaction seemed to amuse him, so Nolan calmly said, "Zuri is Little Ying'er."

"Bro, my dear brother, you're not joking, are you?" Owen was stunned, unable to process this shocking and overwhelming news.

"What do you think?" Nolan's tone shifted, his voice turning cold and stern.

That's it! No need to think anymore! Zuri really is their long-lost sister. No, their precious sister.

Owen was both surprised and overjoyed, excitedly saying, "I knew it! That's why it felt so comfortable being around her; I just wanted to get closer to her. Turns out it's the bond of blood."

"Did she ask you about the Blood Jade before?"

"How did you know?" Owen was startled, then quickly realized and snapped, "You've been spying on me?!"

"Idiot!" Nolan spat out the word before hanging up. If he continued talking to this fool, he might not be able to resist the urge to shove him back into their mother's womb for a redo.

"Hey, hey, hey..." Owen looked at the disconnected call, a bit annoyed. But before the anger could build, it vanished, leaving him to regretfully slap his forehead.

"Damn, damn, damn!"

Usually calm and composed like a nobleman, Owen cursed repeatedly for the first time in his life. Damn it, how could Zuri be so sly! It was all his fault for letting his guard down around her, not realizing the truth.

After composing himself, Owen immediately drove to Zuri's home.

At that moment, Nolan and Adam were standing outside an old apartment complex, both looking up at a lit window on the third floor.

"She lives here?" Adam frowned.

"Yes."

Nolan was also a bit surprised. After all, he had just financed the little girl with three billion.

The two of them went upstairs and knocked on the door.

Zuri opened the door, and their eyes met.

"Zuri," Nolan began.

Zuri stepped aside, allowing them in.

Nolan and Adam entered the apartment, glancing around at the worn-out room, the old furniture, and the occasional decent item. What had seemed like a spacious living room now felt particularly small and suffocating with the two of them inside.

Seeing the state of the place, both Nolan and Adam felt a heavy weight in their hearts.

Zuri walked into the kitchen and said to the tall and imposing figures standing in the living room, "Make yourselves comfortable. What would you like to drink?"

"Just plain water."

Zuri returned with two glasses of water, handed them over, and then sat down opposite them.

With a calm smile, Zuri looked at the two of them, her expression as composed as ever. "Mr. Feng, Dr. Feng, what brings you here?"

Nolan immediately sensed a faint sense of distance, stronger than when they had met before. His heart skipped a beat, a sense of unease creeping in.

"Zuri, you have a piece of Blood Jade, don't you?" Nolan got straight to the point, trying to use this as a bridge to the conversation.

"Yes," Zuri didn't hide it.

If the people in front of her were ordinary, she might have chosen to say "no," but with them, there was no need.

"Zuri, you're a smart person; you should know why we're here. You are the Feng family's long-lost child. You're my sister," Nolan said.

"I know," Zuri replied.

Nolan and Adam exchanged a glance.

"Can I ask how I got lost back then?" Zuri asked calmly.
