While the tub filled with hot water and lavender-scented suds, Maggie padded to the kitchen to pour herself a glass of wine. Returning, she turned off the water, lit a few candles, and switched off the overhead light. As an afterthought, she set her phone beside the wine glass on a stool she carried in from the living room. Maybe Bobby would call. She didnt want to miss him because she was in the tub.
Satisfied, Maggie slowly sank into the steaming bath, leaning against the back of the tub and sighing contentedly.
In the privacy of his room, Bobby dialed Maggies number. It was after 11:00, he realized, but they always seemed to talk at that hour anyway.
She picked up on the third ring. Hi! He could hear the smile in her voice.
Hi, yourself, cher. How are you?
Im so much better now. Its good to hear your voice. How is Savannah?
Bobby smiled. Shes fine. Tonight, she was running around all over the place. How was your day?
