I sat idly on a rooftop, watching over the gathering of Guard and citizens as they prepared to meet their invaders.

The boat was a large one, and I could see a second - maybe a third and fourth too - trailing behind it, each one brimming with pirates thirsty for blood and loot.

Brina looked around the assembled line and began to give out a rousing speech, wanting to bolster morale and get us ready to fight, but I tuned her out as I instead made note of who was where on the line, searching specifically for Leigelf.

In this battle, I had a few things I wanted to do; test some new spells, try out my new weapons, sate my thrust for blood, and rid myself of that pest.
