Both Taga and Keomi were holding one another in disbelief at what had shown itself to them. The onigiri-yokai stared at them as it floated up and down on the ground. The two girls were both petrified by its presence.
"...Are you going to scream again?" the yokai asked, and the girls looked at one another and shook their heads. "Good, now then, greetings there spiritual adventurers. I have noticed your kindness and willingness to share those delicious onigiri you made.
By the way....you have any more?" asked the Onigiri-yokai. Taga looked to Keomi who shook her head. Taga then looked to the yokai and shook her head.
"Darn, well thats ok. Anyway! Your devotion to the spiritual ways has been inspiring to see, so-"
"YOU EXIST!! OH MY GOD!" Taga shouted with Keomi looking at her and then the yokai.
"...Yes, anyway I-"
"SO WHAT CAN YOU DO?! HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN HERE AT THE SCHOOL!?" Taga asked, she was pretty much jumping up and down. Keomi just stared, taking it all in.
".....As I was trying to say-"
"DO YOU-
"GIVE ME A SECOND TO SAY MY PIECE FOR GOD'S SAKE!" shouted the Yokai. Taga stopped and calmed herself, but a big smile remained on her face. The Yokai sighed as he stared at the two. "Of course, I end up getting these two, hyperactive bunches really annoy me, " he thought. He then puffed up his big belly and held up his short blade.
"Like I was saying, you devoted spiritual investigators. You and you alone have shown great dedication to our ways, which is why today I've shown myself to you two. I want you to know we appreciate you deeply and-"
"What has been happening to the boys at this school?" Keomi suddenly asked. Taga and the Yokai both looked at her with surprise. The yokai tilted its head before nodding in approval of the question. "Ah, so you want to know about the disappearances huh? That is a fair question. Alright, I'll answer it." said the yokai. Both the girls got on their knees and scooted closer to the yokai.
"The disappearances of the boys at this school aren't due to your mortal meddling. It has to do with some evil spirits, ones that not even I've seen before. They do so in secret, with no way to tell when or where to. I've tried keeping tabs on the boys, but no luck." said the yokai.
"Um, but why are you looking for them?" Keomi asked.
"Because there is a certain balance that must be kept between the mortals of this world and the spirits that govern over it. When spirits begin to mess around with mortals, things begin to get complicated and strained. The veil keeping us apart becomes thin." said the yokai.
"Evil spirits are abducting boys? I knew it! I said that too, you remember me saying that Keomi? Huh? Right?" Taga said shaking Keomi who nodded at her. "Yea, Yea, I remember I remember." Keomi answered.
"So, you're already aware then. Good. But that's not enough. We need to get on top of this." said the yokai as the two girls looked at him. He then coughed a bit before looking back at them. "Now, normally I would never enlist the help of mortals, but seeing how I haven't been able to find any clues to this, I need your help.
Will you help me?" asked the yokai.
"...."
Taga and Keomi looked at one another.
"This is a chance to finally prove to everyone that I was right and I'm not crazy! Maybe he'll let me get a selfie with him." Taga thought.
"...This is all so strange and insane, but to not help those boys would be even crazier. They need our help!" Keomi thought. Taga and Keomi then nodded to one another.
"We'll do it!" they both said confidently.
