He remembered it all too well, there was an accident before Roy found himself laying face down on the concrete pavement. There was a lot of pain, he felt numb before fear started to become present within him.
Fear of death.
It was a car accident, these people didn't know how to drive, perhaps they were foreigners and didn't know the roads so well. Roy didn't know how he had concluded this, but it was most likely the case, after all, it was raining heavily outside, but they shouldn't have been driving in that lane.
Roy could vaguely hear people yelling through the harsh downpour, as he could also vaguely see people recording the accident with their phones.
'Was anyone coming to help, I'm dying here!' His eyes widen, but that was all he could do.
His name was Roy and he was heading home from work. He had just made a small challenge to himself, and that was to beat every main Pokemon game generation from 1 to 8.
Suddenly, Roy felt a jolt go off in his head like glimmers. Heliographic images that may bounce the reflection of the sun into a wide unsuspecting eye and stun it into blindness. What seemed like hours were only seconds before he no longer felt pain anymore.
He just felt tired. Hopefully, when he woke up, Roy hoped that this would just be a bad dream or he'd just wake up in the hospital somewhere.
Roy slowly lost consciousness, but unfortunately, this would mark his trip to the mortuary.
Moments later.
Roy woke up and looked around, he saw nothing but darkness before him. His hands couldn't even be seen in front of his face.
"Hello, anyone!" He called out, but there was no reply. The strangest thing was that he had all of his strength—as if he had been reborn and renewed.
Roy stood up and moved his limbs with surprise, he had been healed. Surely, it wasn't a dream, right?
'Where is this?' Roy looked around, hoping that his eyes could adapt to the darkness but it seemed that this was an impossible feat.
Right then, letters written in cursive lit up over a door that Roy hadn't been able to see through the darkness. The letters lit up with blue light that spelled out 'The Ballroom Floor Of Eternity.'
Roy stared at the door for a while, before he mustered up the courage to investigate. After taking a deep breath, Roy twisted the knob of the door and slowly pushed it open.
"Hello..." Roy uttered as he pushed the door open.
Once Roy opened the door, he was greeted by a wide and spacious room. The room had beautiful red carpet with several lights implanted in the ceiling. In the middle of the room, there was a desk with a man sitting behind it. Roy was stunned by the man's appearance, he wore a black suit but what stunned him was what he was wearing over his head.
He was wearing a large circular smiley Emoji face mask over his head!
Roy remain silent with widened eyes, he didn't know what to say in this situation. The man, or entity that appeared to be doing paper suddenly stopped. He looked up at Roy before standing from his chair and adjusting his suit tie.
"...."
"Uh, where is this? This isn't a hospital, is it?" Surely it wasn't, was he kidnapped something?
"Welcome, Roy, to The Ballroom Floor Of Eternity." The man bow slightly and said.
"No, you were not kidnapped. Come over and have a seat, I'll explain everything." The smiley emoji-headed man gestured for Roy to take a seat in front of his desk.
Roy squinted his eyes at the chair, he could have sworn that chair in front of the desk wasn't there before. Wait, how did this guy know what he was thinking?! He looked at the man in surprise, did he just guess correctly out of coincidence?
Roy calmed down, that wasn't possible to read anyone's mind, so the thought was quickly discarded. He took a seat and waited for the man to explain what was going on.
"I wasn't expecting you to show up so soon, you were supposed to appear twenty minutes from now. Oh, well, the sooner we get this over with the better, I guess." The smiley Emoji headed man said as he quickly skim through some papers.
'What? I was supposed to arrive here twenty minutes later?' What did that even mean? Roy's expression was a bit unsightly.
"Alrighty then, let's get down to it. Your last memory of yourself flying out of your windshield was real." The smiley emoji-headed man sat the papers down before turning to Roy.
"If it was real, then how am I healed? Was I in a healing coma after the accident?" There was no way anyone could heal so fast, Roy had no idea how critical his injuries were.
"You died, and now you're here. There is no hospital, you died right on that concrete pavement you landed on." The Emoji-headed man said flatly.
"...." Roy was dumbfounded.
"That can't be, then how am I here?" Roy couldn't accept or believe it.
"Ah, so you're one of those." With a sigh, the man continued, "I heard this many times, so I'll answer your question before you ask them."
"No, I can't send you back, you died there already. There's only one place I can send you, and that's to another world." It would seem that Emoji-head was used to this reaction.
In his line of work, this reaction was normal and common. Some people enjoyed this benefit, while others were scared of the thought of transmigration.
"....."
Roy took several deep breaths, this was really happening! He had actually died. Roy wanted to believe this was a joke but this guy knew his situation, and Roy himself was healed completely with not a single scar.
"Do you need a minute to take all of this in...or" Emoji-head put his hands together in a professional manner and asked.
"No, no, I'm okay, I under...stand." Honestly, Roy was furious when he thought of how he died, but he couldn't really blame anyone. Perhaps if he had his seat belt on, he would have lived.
"Wait, you said I came earlier than I was supposed to. Are you saying that I would have died anyway?" Roy's expression changed when he recalled what Emoji-head had said prior.
"Yep, you were destined for a calamity that day no matter what." Emoji-head shrugged and said.
Roy sighed, he couldn't even get upset anymore, it was only meant to be. He could only get back to the main topic at hand, which was the world he was supposed to be sent to.
"So, uh, what world do I suppose to be sent to?" Roy wondered about this world he was going to be sent to.
"Well, let's get into shall we? Let's talk about your good and bad deeds throughout your life." Emoji-head had already skimmed through the paperwork on Roy, so he memorized it all.
Roy pursed his lips before sucking a mouth full of cold air. Was he going to be judged in this manner, did this depend on what world he was going to be sent to?
"Yes, it does," Emoji-head said plainly.
"What? I knew my hunch was right, you can read my thoughts!" Roy was shocked.
"Your good deeds are as followed, you saved a little boy from getting hit by a car when you were 16, you gave one hundred dollars to a homeless man down on his luck, you...." Emoji head proceeded to read off Roy's good deed, ignoring the latter's question.
"Your bad deeds are as followed, you stole a kid's money back in high school, you ripped some guy off, you scammed some kid into thinking he had real Yugioh cards, you..."
"...."
Roy listened silently, some of these things he couldn't even remember doing.
"Your good deeds are most noteworthy and your bad deed mostly focuses around tricking people in some way. No physical harm but this does not mean that they aren't bad." Emoji nodded and said.
The entity was also commending him for this as well for a reason.
"Someone like you actually qualifies to be a Dimensional Sovereign, but you must pass the worldly test first. There are usually thousands of worlds to choose from, but since you are chosen for a potential Sovereign, you can only choose between one hundred worlds."
Emoji head took out a list and released it from his hand. The paper floated through the air towards Roy.
"Dimensional Sovereign? What's that?" Roy was curious and asked.
"It is someone who travels to different Earths to complete missions there. For instance, you would be able to travel to the world of Terminator, Predator, Resident Evil, other Zombie worlds, etc. You would go here to either survive or to both survive and complete quest on your way. You would be given points to buy powers up, weapons, spaceships, and so forth."
"This sounds scary and dangerous, I don't know about this." Roy frowned and said.
"Well, you can either do that or once you die in the next world you pick, you perish for good," Emoji-head said bluntly.
"Okay, I don't want to die permanently, I'll try." Roy hurriedly said.
"That's good, now pick a world." Emoji-head nodded.
"Right." Roy saw exactly one hundred worlds as Emoji-head had spoken about.
-Harry Potter
-Dragonball
-Naruto
-The Walking Dead
-One Piece
-Cultivation World
-Power Rangers
-Marvel Universe
-Dc Universe
-Pokemon
-Stephen King Verse
-Teen Wolf
-Random Zombie Apocalypse World
-Star Wars
.....
.....
This list went on and on, of course until it reached one hundred.
Roy weighed the pros and cons of each world before concluding which world he wanted to go to.
