บท 4: Discovery!

The room was silent for a moment, everyone just stared at Leon speechlessly. This whole time he had a Pokemon already, could this be why he wasn't so impressed?

Luke naturally frowned in dismay, his brother had a Pokemon before him, and a good one at that!

"This...is a surprise! Can we see it as proof?" Leon's father wanted to see it with his own eyes, and his mom was no different. Leona was stunned as well, her brother had a Pokemon this whole time and he didn't tell her!

This caused her to pout lightly in dismay when she thought about it.

Leon quickly transferred Sneasel over before reaching into his pocket. He called Sneasel's name and tossed the Pokeball.

"Sne-Sneasel!"

Sneasel appeared and started gazing around aggressively with wide and sharp eyes.

Sneasel eased up after turning to Leon.

"I-it really is a Sneasel. This is really a miracle, Sneasel doesn't appear around here, but he found a wounded one!" Lian was amazed and shocked at how fortunate her son was, it was really a miracle.

"This is good and all, but what is the Aptitude of this Pokemon? I know you guys don't fully understand Aptitude, but this is really important for a Pokemon's progress."

Leon's father looked Sneasel up and down, this was an excellent Pokemon overall. However, it could be amazing if its Aptitude was up to standard.

"Yes, this Sneasel should be decent, I'm not exactly sure about its Aptitude. But with this, you can give one of my brothers a decent Pokemon from the list."

Leon had access to just about every Pokemon, he didn't want to starve his brothers out.

"Hmm..." Lian looked towards Sneasel, who had its arms crossed in a somewhat haughty and arrogant manner. Judging from the length of the feather on its head, this should be a female Sneasel.

"Alright, it'll be done this way. We have enough to buy one of you a [Yellow Aptitude] Pokemon, but Two of you will end up with a lower-ranked Pokemon."

Linus looked between Luke and Larsonn, indicating them to make a decision among themselves.

"I deserve it, I'm clearly smarter. I should have the most talented Pokemon over Larson." Luke believed himself to be better than Larson, who didn't seem too bright.

If anything, Larson seemed to be more of a brawn-over-brains type of character.

"Luke, watch what you say!" Lian frowned deeply hearing Luke's insults against Larson.

"Yeah!" Leona protested against Luke by waving her little fist around in the air.

"Ah, sorry, my bad, my bad!" Luke hurriedly said nervously. What he really thought of Larson finally came out of his mouth.

"Hmph! For that, the high-aptitude Pokemon should go to Larson instead, you're too arrogant!" Lian glared at Luke angrily.

"No, mom, it was a mistake!" Luke's heart dropped, he didn't want a weak Pokemon. He didn't want to be an average Pokemon trainer, he naturally wanted to be at the top.

Leon noticed that this guy seemed to have high ambitions and goals in life. Luke might even be willing to do anything to make it happen! This caused Leon's expression to scrunch, it would be trouble if this guy turned on his own family one day.

"It's okay, he can have the most talented one—it doesn't matter to me right now. You said it would have a lower Aptitude, right? Wouldn't it be Orange Tier?"

Larson shrugged Luke's insult off and decided to run with the options left over. Leon was a bit surprised, he actually gave up such an opportunity.

"Larson, are you sure?" Linus was stunned and asked if he was sure about his decision.

"Yes, I'm sure," Larson said with assurance.

The family began to go over what Pokemon was best for Zeon by going over his options. His father recommended that he pick something off of the Beginner list since they could give him—at least a Saffron Orange-tiered Pokemon.

Leon recommended that Larson get a Zubat, it was really powerful once it became a Crobat. Its base stats were actually really amazing, and in this real-life scenario, it was simply too good to ignore.

Zubat was a sleeping dragon and an underdog who was overlooked by a lot of trainers. They finalized it and decided to run with Zubat, it was indeed the best option.

Lian had to pay more Team Rocket points, but she was able to acquire a Orange Aptitude for Larson. Unfortunately, all of their Team Rocket points were exhausted.

Leon told his parents he was leaving out with Sneasel, but he recalled it and put the Pokeball in his pocket. His mom and dad simply told him to be back before midnight as usual.

Leona wanted to stop Leon in order to speak to him about his new Pokemon, something he hid from her. However, she was called over by her mom to study, which caused her to pout and feel a surge of annoyance.

Leon chuckled seeing this and left the house.

"This is really the roughest part of Viridian City, this place is the land of scum and villainy." It was the deepest part of Viridian where thugs roamed around freely and beggars scuffled for a single steam bun.

Leon immediately took to the streets, which were littered with trash and overgrown weeds. He ignored the homeless people on the streets and went to a specific location.

When Leon came to it, he appeared in front of an old dilapidated house with poorly shaped rusted fences around it. Without the slightest change in his expression, Leon walked onto the property and entered the front door.

"Hey, Leon is here!" A boy around the age of Eleven or Twelve years old said loudly. He had brown skin and black hair with sharp yellow eyes.

From the standards of his previous world, this kid would be considered Black or of African descent.

His name was Lucian.

Once the boy said this—Four other kids quickly came over to see Leon. There were a total of Five of them, there was Three boy and Two girls in total here.

"Welcome to our exquisite home, sir." One of the boys smiled and said. He had short light blue hair and light blue eyes with fair skin. He could be considered cute among girls, there was no doubt that he'd grow to be a handsome man in the future.

His name was Ace.

"Haha, real funny." Leon shook his head with a smile, this fella sure knew how to joke.

"I found what we were looking for; a place that's big enough to be our base of operations. We can live there, grow things, and even sell things from there if we want to."

This kid was the tallest here and the oldest, he was older than Leon by Two years; he was Fourteen. He had black hair going down to his shoulders with neat and clean eyebrows.

His features were of a kid who had been through it and had matured over time—serious and passionate in what he did or would do.

His name was Rigor.

There were Two other girls, they were identical twins. The only difference was their hair color, name, and eyes.

There was Alana, she was the elder sister and had red hair and eyes. Then there was the little sister, she had dark blue hair and dark blue eyes—her name was Alane.

"You've found a good building that meets the standard, I would like to see it." Leon had given him this objective Three days ago, and it was finally found.

"He found it, it's a tall abandoned office building with Five top floors and Three lower floors—the basements," Rigor said with a grin, but his expression changed afterward.

"This area is controlled by the Rodent gang, they told us to get lost or they were going to beat us to death. Their leader is an Eighteen-year-old man, and he has a Pokemon—we simply can't fight this guy or else."

They didn't have any Pokemon to fight back or resist with. Anyone who could acquire a Pokemon would shoot up the hierarchy immediately.

"I guess I should have seen this coming. Is he the only one with a Pokemon in the gang?" Leon asked.

Though this didn't really matter to him, it was best to understand the situation anyway, or at least—show some interest.

"There are Two other people who have Pokemon, while the rest are just kids who carry around old bats and rusty pipes."

This time, it was Ace who cut in to speak. He was tasked by Rigor to figure out who had Pokemon amongst these gang members.

"A total of Three? This won't matter in the end, did you take pictures of the building's interior and exterior with the camera I gave you?" Leon asked.

"Hehe, oh yeah, I was waiting for you to ask me about this. Take a look at them." Rigor opened an old worn-out dirty drawer close by and pulled out a stack of photos.

Leon sorted through the pictures and was amazed at how decent this building was. The building was indeed run down with quite a few windows cracked and shattered. However, the building was tall and the interior was massive and could be used in many different ways.

The building was close to a junkyard that had mountains of trash—Rigor made sure to take pictures of that as well.

"We have to have it! We'll set out now to start setting up, let's go." Leon had made a firm decision, this place would be their temporary base.

"What about the Rodent gang?" Alane asked worriedly.

"They're nothing, just a bunch of goofy-goobers, who don't know better." Leon laughed and said.

"Goofy-goobers?" Everyone looked at each other, confused as to what a goofy goober was.

"Haha, I'll explain what a goofy goober is on the way there, let's leave." Leon wanted this place now. He had left the house around 7:26 PM, so he had to be home by 12:00 AM.

Everyone gathered what they needed and left the old run-down house soon after.
