"Why are you with her?" Percival asked the question to Carlisle. His expression souring. Every time he saw Irene, he couldn't help but feel a new wave of anger. His mother had passed from lack of Holy Water. He had bent the knee, begging Richter for some water but he had simply shrugged, stating that his family didn't have anything that he wanted. 

Instead, he gave the vial to a maid who used it to wash her hands. Percy watched in horror as the maid's hands remained perfectly unmarred while his mother died at home. It was an illness that had taken her, one that made her cough up blood. She had told Percival not to worry, that she would recover but she never did. 

Percy's mother had been the matriarch of the house after his father had passed when he was young. She was the only one left, and then the Aphelion's had simply let her die.
