[Raymond's POV]

Two years have gone by since they started dating. The abandoned beach house became their sanctuary — a hiding place away from the judging eyes of the society. Only a select few knew their relationship, as Johan was keen on keeping it a secret, even from their family.

"Maybe we should buy this piece of land from your aunt just to be sure," Johan said while he split a bamboo in two. "I still feel like we're intruding here. What do you think, Ray?"

"Aren't we too young to buy properties? We don't have enough money for that yet."

"It's fine. I can take care of it—ack! Fuck!"

Raymond dropped his cutlass and rushed to where Johan sat, hissing in pain. He grabbed the injured hand and pressed a handkerchief to the cut that tainted the fabric with crimson. "What did you do? Yohei, you should be careful. You got yourself injured again."

"Sorry."

"Let's head back inside."
