บท 158: A Shield, To Protect

Arthur's body hurt… a lot.

Cuts riddled his arms, legs and face and his mana core felt strained, sending a deep craving for mana that made his throat run dry.

His muscles were screaming for relief after putting them through the wringer in a high-speed battle that required him to keep running.

The prince knew not how long they'd been running or even how long they'd been fighting before it was all over…

There was no doubt his friends felt the same way.

They too were bound to be injured beyond all measure. After all, one of them was injured badly enough to be eliminated.

A pang of guilt yanked at the prince's chest. Anthony was the one out of all of them that had personally asked Arthur for the chance to survive… and yet, he hadn't.

The prince knew not when Anthony had vanished from their group. Each one of them had been preoccupied with trying to stay alive to notice when another went missing.
