One week before the year end's celebration.

Like always, the attendants in the Royal Palace were all busy taking care of their masters within their palaces.

In one of the prominent palaces of the Royal Palace was Kunning Palace, but at the time, it was still under reconstruction. Meanwhile, the mistress of Kunning Palace had moved herself out from the esteemed palace and into a much more isolated palace like Mei Lin palace.

And such was how the Empress had been keeping herself from others this whole time. Hardly anyone had seen the Empress and even the concubine's greetings were all cancelled.

Rumours have been flocking the palace walls that her majesty was now bedridden and her scar that she had received from the burnt marks had all rotten up, so the Empress could no longer find any face to come out.
