บท 201: A Snack  

'Initiating defensive shields,' grunted Gabriel as I tried to bring my males in closer to my body. I didn't think that the shields linked with my armor would be enough to protect all nine of us, but I wasn't going to pick and choose who to save.

God damnit, I was going to save all of them… or die trying.

The heat coming toward us was like nothing I had ever experienced before. Sure, this planet was hot as Hell, but the temperature of the flames felt like nothing short of lava.

I ducked my head down as my mates pushed in as close to me as they could. Their backs were all to the flames, trying to keep me as safe and protected as they could. We all knew it wouldn't be enough. We were going to die here long before the Drakarian understood that we were on her side.
