บท 27: Admiral Aokiji
"This is bad," Aokiji's expression turned grim. Even the Marine Admiral himself hadn't anticipated that Whitebeard would unleash two waves. In a twisted turn of events, the Ice Age earlier had played right into Whitebeard's hands.
"Aokiji, don't get distracted in the midst of battle!"
Laughter resonated loudly.
Aokiji abruptly raised his head, his narrowed eyes sharp as needles. Before him, Whitebeard leaned forward, raising his arm high, and forcefully slammed it down into the air.
BOOM!
A deafening sound echoed as the tremendous force crushed the air, causing it to crack. The overpowering shockwave swept Aokiji through the air.
"Ice spear!"
As an Admiral, Aokiji reacted swiftly. He folded his hands in front of him, frost covering his arms. In moments, multiple ice spears materialized, and Aokiji swiftly swung his arms, using the spears to counter the force of the shock.
The collision between the two forces unfolded before everyone's eyes.
Then… it burst forth with fierce intensity!
The ice spear vanished in that instant, but the sheer power of the shockwave continued to surge forward.
"What?!" Everyone was astonished. It was completely unexpected that Aokiji's attack would be effortlessly crushed.
"Huh?"
Aokiji's eyes narrowed in disbelief. He had never anticipated such an outcome. With no time to spare, Aokiji quickly crossed his hands in a defensive stance, bracing himself against the approaching shockwave.
BOOM!
A deafening sound echoed as the full force of the shockwave collided with Aokiji's body. His face turned pale as he felt the overwhelming power surging through his veins. The sheer strength was shocking, and even as an Admiral, he couldn't withstand it.
In that single, crushing blow, Aokiji realized the terrifying might of Whitebeard, a man in his seventies displaying such overwhelming power with a casual strike.
"How can Whitebeard possess such immense power?!" Aokiji's face showed utter disbelief. He had never imagined such a thing. Whitebeard, in his advanced age, exhibited a level of strength that was beyond comprehension.
BOOM!
The power erupted, shattering Aokiji's resistance, and he was sent hurtling through the air with a thunderous crash, crashing into the island. Smoke and dust billowed, obscuring the view and concealing the aftermath.
Silence enveloped the scene, an eerie hush descending upon Marineford.
All those present were in a state of shock. Aokiji, one of the Marine Headquarters' three Admirals, had been brought down by a single punch from Whitebeard, plummeting from the sky.
It was now evident to all why Whitebeard was revered as the strongest man in the world. The reason for his undefeated status in the old era, capable of rivaling even the legendary Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, became crystal clear.
"How could Admiral Aokiji be overwhelmed so easily?"
"What's happening? Admiral Aokiji is supposed to have the highest combat power in our unit. How did this happen?"
"Whitebeard is incredibly strong. Are we really his opponents?" Many marine soldiers whispered in confusion.
"Is this the true power of the world's strongest man?" Doflamingo's laughter abruptly ceased, sweat trickling down his forehead. Doflamingo had arrived with the assumption that Whitebeard's strength had diminished with age, as long as he didn't engage him directly...
However, witnessing the devastating blow just now, he realized that Whitebeard was far from being old and feeble. Even a Marine Admiral had been sent flying with just one punch! Doflamingo understood that he was completely outmatched and had no means to contend with such power. "There is no finesse, it's pure brute force!" Hawk Eye Mihawk tightened his grip on his lengthy sword, his eyes reflecting profound shock. He had witnessed the entire clash with absolute clarity. The reason Aokiji was struck down wasn't due to sluggish defenses...
It was because he couldn't withstand the sheer force! Whitebeard's raw power exceeded Aokiji's ice power, asserting dominance in terms of sheer strength. This resulted in Aokiji being blown away by a single punch!
"Even at his age, he possesses a terrifying strength that surpasses even the Admirals. He truly deserves the title of the world's strongest man!" Hawk Eye Mihawk's tone was exceptionally solemn as he expressed deep reverence for the title held by Whitebeard.
"Bwahahaha~"
"Whitebeard is as mighty as ever! He just sent Aokiji flying with a single blow!" Garp roared with laughter, clutching his belly in amusement.
"Garp, you be quiet!" Sengoku on the execution stage clenched his teeth, lowered his head, and scolded Garp.
"Hahaha~"
"Apologies, apologies…" Garp offered a half-hearted apology.
"This man!" Sengoku let out a heavy sigh, then turned his gaze towards Whitebeard, his expression filled with utmost seriousness. "This old man still possesses such incredible strength despite his age?" Sharing the same era as Whitebeard, Sengoku had firsthand experience of how age could erode one's strength. But that last punch made him realize that Whitebeard was still at the zenith of his power.
A cough interrupted the crowd's astonishment. All eyes turned towards the scene, and to their astonishment, the smoke cleared, revealing Admiral Aokiji rising from the rubble.
The already stunned crowd now stood in utter disbelief.
After witnessing Aokiji's recovery, they were left trembling.
"How is this possible?!" The faces of marine soldiers were filled with disbelief. Aokiji had not only been sent flying but had also endured a powerful punch from Whitebeard!
In essence, under Whitebeard's devastating blow...
