บท 49: ILLUSIONS

Third Person's P.O.V

Both of them are just staring at each other before Mino breaks the gaze he is giving her. He must exercise enormous self-control in order for his intellect to work properly. This princess illusion is too enticing for him.

Mino was shocked when the chair he was seated on moved away after a few seconds of stillness. He noticed Vreihya as he moved away, like if someone was tugging his chair. Suddenly, a swarm of women in exquisite ball gowns came, and the princess seemed to vanish from his sight.

Immediately, his surroundings brightened, and he gazed at himself. He couldn't help but wonder because he was suited in a tuxedo. The room became well-lit, and music began to play.

Everything has the appearance and feel of a great ball. He gazed about, amusement filling his eyes as he observed how everything changed. With all of that dangling chandelier above and various individuals wandering and speaking in their gorgeous ball gowns, it feels like a large hotel.

He can't help but wonder because all he sees are beauties. As far as he can tell, he is the only man in this ball wearing a tuxedo. His brow furrowed in bewilderment.

"What the heck is this again?" he asked, irritated by the deity's trick to him. He moved slowly to the crowd of ladies, and now he regrets not staring fully at the princess earlier since his eyes desire to see her face again.

He's not sure if it's because of the wonderful violin he's hearing or the aura of this unexpected ball, but his feet began to move and his eyes began to scan the crowd for the princess.

He didn't know, but he felt like more and more people were obstructing his path as he grew more eager to see the princess. "Mino? Care to dance?" someone asked, and he was cut off by a familiar voice from behind him.

He glanced at it, but he didn't see the princess. "Faith?" he asked, puzzled, glancing at the woman in front of him. She is dressed in a pink silk gown that is tailored to her curves. Her hair was pulled up in a high ponytail, and she smiled sweetly.

The smile that once captivated Mino's heart. Suddenly, Mino's mind flashed back to all of their shared memories, as well as how she dumped him due of his mother. He found himself gripping the young lady's waist a few minutes later. Their other hands are clasped together, and the young lady's other hand rests on his shoulder.

He knew Faith was beautiful before, but why on earth is he thinking of anyone other than the princess right now? Because of this needy feeling, he felt compelled to excuse himself and go search of Vreihya. He believes he desired to spend this time with the princess and no one else.

"You're not dancing as gracefully as you did before with me," Faith noticed right away because she sensed something was bothering Mino. During the height of their relationship, they both enjoyed dancing. Mino will always dance with her whether there is music or in the midst of silence.

Mino only stared at her, as though he didn't know what to say. Suddenly, there are a few dancing close to them, and he is no longer the only man on the floor. "Is there someone new?" Faith inquired, her attention fixed on Mino.

Mino was perplexed since he, too, had no idea what to say. Faith moved away instantly and gently adjusted the necktie of the man in front of her. "You were just like this when I asked you whether you liked me; you can never process your thoughts and you're mute when you're thinking about something that causes your mind to spin out of control," the young lady kindly explained.

"You're even blushing just thinking of her." Mino's eyes widened instantly, and he was able to look away owing to the sight of the beauty who simply smiled pleasantly. So that's why he's getting a flush on his cheeks while pondering where he'll find the princess. "I pray she never abandons you like I did," she whispered, wrapping her arms around Mino's neck.

Mino stared at her, unable to speak due to what his ex-girlfriend stated. "One final kiss for goodbye?" she asked, moving the distance between their lips and planting a chaste kiss.

Mino felt what appeared to be a piercing glare from his right all of a sudden. When Faith moved away from him, Mino looked in the direction of the stare and saw the beauty he was yearning for.

Her arms were crossed, her brow was arched, and she locked her gaze on him. "Damn!" Mino said as he quickly bid farewell to Faith and waved her off.

He was in the middle of breaking up the dancers, but both of them and the princess were taken aback when the surroundings went dark again and they were the only two left in the place with a spotlight on them. The remainder of the dancing partners seemed to vanish in a swirl of smoke.

Mino can clearly see their distance and the princess's elegant back moving away from him. This illusion is really detailed for him, and he appreciates the deity for that. The violin is still playing somewhere where both of them can hear it, and it seems to add to whatever emotions they are feeling.

"Vreihya?" Mino whispered tenderly. "What!" she yelled back at Mino as she scoffed. Mino immediately smiled at the young lady's demeanor. "Why are you upset?" Mino humorously said, raising an eyebrow.

"Because you're such a flirt!" exclaimed the princess, making him giggle a little. Mino rushed quickly to close the gap between them and the enraged princess, and he hardly stopped when there was only a few feet between them.

He couldn't help but be taken aback by the splendor of the princess before him. He is unaware that a crimson dress has the power to slay. "Do you know how to dance?" he asked, abruptly changing the subject. "No!" exclaimed the princess, and Mino couldn't resist the desire to squeeze her cheek.

Mino didn't hesitate any longer and extended his hand. Even though she was upset at what she witnessed, Vreihya couldn't shake the excitement of seeing the Mino she truly knew again. She was overjoyed to see her Mino as she knew him.

She put aside her unexplainable irritation and welcomed Mino's kind gesture. She is so calm right now because she knows she is facing her Mino and no other version of him. "I'll teach you," he said as he approached her.

He took both of Vreihya's hands and placed them on his shoulders before wrapping his arms around her tiny waist. Vreihya gasped for air as she realized how close his body was to hers. She hastily shifts her attention away from him as she feels something on her cheeks.

"Eye contact," Mino whispered softly, and the princess seemed to gaze at him automatically. Their eyes locked as their bodies followed one other's motions. Because of their closeness, the familiar madness of their hearts began to infiltrate their system.

Both of their eyes were attempting to express something that words could not. Mino's eyes began to glow once more, and the princess was drowned out by those crystal blue eyes. Hearts hammering and bodies attempting valiantly not to quiver.

Mino appeared even more taken aback by the princess's lips parting as they began to catch fire. Her blood-red eyes make it difficult for him to breathe. They may have different eye hues, but their hearts beat at the same rhythm that they both fear sharing.

"Can you twirl?" Mino softly asked the princess, who appeared to have regained awareness. She only nodded slowly because she couldn't seem to talk with him so near to her. They stepped away from one other immediately, and Mino grabbed the princess's hand to turn her around.

But he grabbed her by the waist and drew her closer because she had lost her balance due to her high heels. Vreihya's palm landed on his firm chest as he tightened his grip on her to prevent her from tripping. Because they are separated by inches, she can feel his breath on her face.

However, Mino was also freed as a result of the princess's movement. She hurriedly took off her high heels and flung them away, and she anchored Mino's neck to continue their dance.

He wraps his arms around her waist quickly, and their bodies collide once more. She leaned on tiptoe so Mino wouldn't have to struggle to hold her waist. Their gazes locked once more, but this time Mino gave in to his desire to place his forehead against hers.

This caused both of their hearts to race once more. He doesn't mind the almost-exposed breast in front of his gaze or the high slits on her thigh. Her crimson red eyes alone are worth admiring, not only her stunning form.

What he is seeing right now is a feisty princess who is also devoted to her people. A princess who will sacrifice herself to heal a child's wounds and pain, as she did for Kypper. That is incredible and selfless.

They separated and then successfully accomplished the twirl that they both desired. But Mino couldn't stop the thunderous beat of his heart as he saw her twirl become a slow motion, and when her body became close again, he lost control.

Mino abruptly lowered his body, startling the princess. While Mino dipped her, the princess gripped tighter to his neck to keep herself balanced. That was a daring move on his part, and it sealed the deal for both of them.

Both lips were parted, staring at each other. And when Mino stood firmly together again with Vreihya, her world was brought to a halt. Soft and warm... That's how his lips felt when she pressed it against hers.

She was startled and stiffened, but she afterwards closed her eyes and tightened her embrace around his neck to truly seal this passionate kiss. It wasn't enough that their lips united because they both accompanied each other's lip pleading to make it deeper.

As they savored the warmth of their lips, their heartbeats became melody. Why do they appear to be yearning for one another? They're both convinced that this illusion is the only way for them to express something they can't exactly say with words.

Their lips separated slowly, but their gazes remained fixed on each other. Both are out of breath as a result of the emotion that has finally been released through their acts. They gradually drifted apart, but Mino clutched his neck and sighed deeply.

"Thank God it's just an illusion," he said quietly. "Illusion?" Vreihya remarked, her brow furrowed in surprise, and Mino looked at her in utter shock. Vreihya quickly added, "You're the illusion!" to her sentence.

"No I'm not!" Mino answered back to her then all of the sudden they both turned their backs away from each other as the idea that neither of them is an illusion all this time. Vreihya immediately cupped both of her cheeks because of the shame and heat they felt.

Mino walked back and forth, his palm covering his face. They both can't believe they're seeing their genuine selves and not just an illusion.
