CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED TWENTY THREE

Yuan and Feifei walked hand in hand on their way to Yuan's house.

The moment they entered the gate, what immediately caught Feifei's attention are the benches and long table placed outside Yuan's house.

Then he noticed the coal heating inside the box of bricks with the parallel bars on top.

Seeing this, Feifei felt warm all over.

He raised his head at Yuan. This man never ceased to amaze him with his efficiency and thoughtfulness.

He said the skewered meat and stew is at his house. It turns out that everything was already delivered at Yuan's house!

Maybe Yuan anticipated they might be late for this dinner. So as not to make things more awkward, he had the food delivered to his parents house.

Feifei's face split into a smile.

Feeling Feifei's gaze on him, Yuan looked down at Feifei and habitually kissed the top of his head.

Feifei, feeling shy, scratched the palm of Yuan's hand. Silently asking him to be mindful of his actions.

Especially his spontaneous endearing actions.

What would his parents think?!

With his heart on his throat, Feifei stretched his neck as he peeked inside the house.

He can hear people talking inside. But their voices are too low for him to hear. He tilted his head for better reception.

But still nothing. Can't hear whatever it is they are talking inside. Hopefully they are not talking about him and Yuan.

Usually when its a gathering, those early birds always enjoys talking about those late comers.

And Yuan and him are the late comers and hopefully not the subject of their talks. For that would make him feel uncomfortable.

Seeing Feifei's childish movements, a corner of Yuan's mouth raised in an arc.

He then gently pulled Feifei inside the house.

When they walked passed the front door, all talks stopped and all eyes were focused on them.

Feifei can feel her hair standing up. Being the center focus of many people's attention is quite unnerving.

Unconsciously, Feifei tightened his hold on Yuan's hand.

Feeling Feifei's uneasiness, he wrapped an arm around his waist and held him close to his body. Giving him his silent support and protection.

Understanding Yuan's intention, Feifei, out of habit raised his head and gave Yuan one of his heart stopping smiles.

Yuan can't help his lips from turning up as he sees Feifei's enchanting smile.

He wants to kiss him but he knows Feifei has a thin face and he easily gets shy. So he settled with caressing the waist he was holding.

Everyone was closely watching the couples quiet interaction with mutual affection. And its very obvious how much they love each other.

And its even more apparent how long they have been together based on their silent understanding.

But to be fair, this couple couldn't be more perfect for each other. Just by their outward appearances alone, no one can deny how compatible they are together.

Not to mention their strong feelings towards each other, they look like a one in million perfect fit!

Feeling the heated gaze of Yuan's family, Feifei felt burned that his face flushed crimson.

To break the silence, he opened his mouth first to greet the elders.

"Uncle Yu, good evening." Feifei greeted Yuan's father. Then he looked at Shan Xuefei. "Aunt, good evening."

Then he gave a congenial smile to everyone and a small nod.

"Feifei." Yu Quibai greeted first.

Shan Xuefei nodded with satisfaction and greeted with a smile. "Feifei."

Yuan held Feifei's hand in his as he inclined his head to his parents.

"Mother. Father."

After the greetings, under everyone's gaze, Yuan led Feifei inside and helped him sit down first before sitting himself beside Feifei.

Having sat down, Feifei can't help but look at Yuan's family staring at them with eagle sharp eyes. It's as if even a small move from Yuan and him cannot escape their notice.

Feifei never thought meeting the whole family, especially the parents, can be such a nerve wracking event!

Plus the defeaning silence in the atmosphere, it is enough to give Feifei the cold sweats.

Feifei looked at Yuan.

Thankfully he has such an understanding and supportive man.

"Since you guys are here, let's again introduce each other." Yu Quibai spoke.

"I'm Yu Quibai, Yuan's father. This here, is Shan Xuefei, Yuan's mother." Yu Quibai patted Shan Xuefei's hand as Shan Xuefei smiled at Feifei warmly.

"Sitting opposite me is our second child, Leilei and her husband Gus. Then sitting opposite you is our youngest, Fanfan and her fiance Rong Jin." Yu Quibai finished with a happy smile on his face and looked at Yuan with an even bigger smile.

Seeing his family complete makes Yu Quibai, as a father, filled with satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment.

When his father looked at him, Yuan caught his meaning. He took Feifei's hand and swiftly introduced Feifei to everyone.

"This is Chu Feifei, my partner."

Leilei snorted.

Yuan coldly looked at his sister.

Yu Quibai gave Leilei a warning look.

Leilei felt even more unwilling! How can this fox woman be his brother's partner?! She really is not reconciled!

His brother is great in everything! Not to mention the many women who likes him despite his cold indifference and terrifying reputation.

But he is just snatched by a foreign woman of unknown origin!

How can she be happy about this? What about sister Xin Lian, brother's childhood sweetheart?!

Leilei clenched her hands into tight fists. She must do something about this.

Leilei looked at Fanfan closely observing her reception towards Feifei. But it seems like Fanfan likes Feifei too?

She then looked at her mother. But she was crushed by defeat. Just the big smile that almost split her mother's face, no question about it. She also likes Feifei!

What did Feifei ever feed her family for them to like her this much, this quick. She was just gone for half a year of recuperation. Trying to mend her body to be able to give birth to a child.

But the moment she comes back, everything is not what it used to be. Everything seems to have changed without her.

She gave Feifei a malicious glare but she took her gaze just as quickly. For fear of angering both her father and brother.

Her father is terrible when he gets angry.

But her brother is the very devil when he gets seriously angry.

"What are your plans for the future?" Shan Xuefei immediately went to the heart of the matter. She asked as she looked at Feifei.

She has been waiting for a long time for Yuan to take home a wife! And finally, her prayers are answered!

She really was anxious for Yuan's future. For awhile, she thought Yuan would spend his whole life as a bachelor!

Seeing Shan Xuefei looking straight at him, Feifei felt his throat dry. He then pass the ball to Yuan.

"I listen to Yuan." Feifei whispered softly as he tightened his hold on Yuan's hand.

Yuan smiled listening to Feifei's words.

Who listens to whom? Yuan can't help but ask himself.

"We are already decided to be together. There is no breaking us apart. Im planning to set a time to see Feifei's family and ask for marriage. Then we will plan from there."

Feifei looked up at Yuan. He almost teared up hearing the sincerity of his words.

There is no breaking us apart.

Feifei bit his lips as he can feel his eyes beginning to gather tears.

"Feifei, your good with that?"

"Yes, Aunt. What Yuan says, is."

"Good! Good!" Shan Xuefei is so happy that she wanted to dance and clap her hands in glee.

At last! At long last!

Yu Quibai also smiled.

"Since both of you are here and we have settled the matter, let's start dinner. The charcoal outside must be good enough to roast the skewered meat." Yu Quibai opened up.

"Yes! Let's eat!" Fanfan echoed as she immediately stood up.

"Take out the other food and Feifei's stew!" Shan Xuefei ordered.

Then began the peaceful and happy dinner with no hitch.

Outside from Leilei's glares, Feifei was happy with the outcome of the family dinner.

It wasn't as bad as he thought it was.

How bad can it be when he has Yuan as his protector?
