บท 14: The Hero Killed The Clown Part 2

Wiyot was still conscious, albeit caught in the dark in every sense of the word. All that he could make out that was around him was the dark brown wool of the sack that he had been stuffed in. There was little too no wiggle room as Wiyot could not turn his head in either direction.

The kidnapper in the ski mask stopped running as he approached a wooden shack. The shack was covered by thorns and dead roses. The shack was yellow with a fading blue paint trim. After he walked inside, he threw the sack down on the ground, Wiyot felt every movement within. Wiyot was just able to see traces of the kidnapper’s shadow.

“Fuck yes!” The kidnapper as he took out a bird cage from his closet. “I love it when shit come together!”

The kidnapper grabbed the sack that Wiyot was, opened a hole and throw him inside of the bird cage, locking it up, just avoiding getting nipped by Wiyot. Wiyot looked around the area. He saw a dark grey crusty couch, an old wooden desk, clothes on the ground in the corner, a sink full of dishes, and a roach off to the side.

“Look at you”. The kidnapper said, coming closer to Wiyot. “Such a beautiful, majestic animal. So precious. Too precious for this world. But that is why you have been leaving us have you? We haven’t appreciated you for the amazing creature that you are! Well, that time stops now! This is the dawn of the age of the owl!”

Wiyot looked at the kidnapper as disdain grew on his face. He looked around the area once again, but nothing had changed. He then turned to the kidnapper who at that point was petting Wiyot head in such a matter that Wiyot’s whole entire body had begun to vibrate from head to toe.

“The places that we will go”. The man in the ski mask said. He then looked into mirror and as if he did not realize that he still had his ski mask on. He pulled it off and revealed that he was simply a white young man, no older than mid-twenties with curly red hair.

The kidnapper walked over to his drawers where he fetched a hairbrush. He then came back, and to brush his hair. Wiyot facial expression had turn to one of confusion. He tried to budge out, but the kidnapper’s grip was strong enough that Wiyot was forced to stay in place.

“It has been far too long, this path that I have been taking”. The kidnapper began. “I went at it alone. There have been several times where I wanted to give up. But here you are, my reason to keep going.

BUZZ! BUZZ!

“Who the hell?” The weird curly freak shouted as he took out his cell phone. He stared at it for a moment like it was gold before he answered the call.

“Can I help you?” The kidnapper asked.

“Are you okay?” A soft voice of an older woman asked. “We all have been worried about you”.

“What? You don’t need to worry about me, I’m doing just fine. I’m living my best life”.

“Doing what?”

“Working on a project!”

“Project? Did you finally get a job?”

“No mom, my job is to find the truth of the universe”.

The kidnapper continued to bug out as Wiyot watched him. The kidnapper’s mother was talking to him on the other which led to the kidnapper to begin to pace the floor. Back and forth, back and forth the kidnapper went as you could hear the remnants of what his mother was saying to him.

“Look, don’t go around doing something stupid”. His mother told him. “You’ll regret it”.

“Mom, I told you already I don’t do anything stupid. I take calculated risks and sometimes they don’t pan out”.

“Either way, if you are up to something, stop it”.

“Why do you always think that I am up to something?”

“Because you usually are”.

“Ever think that I could be working on something that is going to save the world?”

Like I said, don’t around doing something stupid. I got to go, bye”. His mother said as she ended the call”.

“Annoying bitch”. The kidnapper uttered. “She doesn’t get it. She has never gotten it. She doesn’t understand the importance of what I am doing. She cannot comprehend the magnitude of the choices that are right in front me. She cannot see the future ramifications of my current actions. But one day she will. And when she does, she will regret it”.

Wiyot’s eyes widen after the kidnapper’s rant. He looked away to the window and saw that it was now the middle of the day. He looked back and saw that the kidnapper was still reveling in his delusions of grandeur. Wiyot wiggled a bit, but soon ended that.

“Don’t worry”. The kidnapper said. “You and I are going to be somebody”.
