บท 55: 55. Long Lost Memories 11
The red moon hanging high in the sky slowly descended, pressing down with an overwhelming force that made it hard for everyone on the ground to breathe.
At the center of it all, Kaguya Josuke's face turned pale. He could sense that he was now locked in by the full moon, with nowhere to escape.
"Tsukuyomi... it's actually become a physical attack?"
Even from a distance, Uchiha Igaku could feel the massive destructive power contained within the full moon.
Kaguya Josuke was unwilling to die in a foreign land and desperately squeezed every ounce of power from his bloodline.
Bones within his body began to grow rapidly, causing him to grow several meters tall in an instant. He transformed into a giant made of bone, his entire body assembled from grayish-white bones, with sharp, white, menacing bone spurs protruding.
"I, Kaguya Josuke, will not die at the hands of a mere brat!"
A crazed roar erupted from Kaguya Josuke's chest as he controlled the Bone Giant.
Uchiha Gin remained unmoved by Kaguya Josuke's transformation. His scarlet eyes stared coldly at the descending red moon, and blood kept gushing from his eyes. His muscular body was thinning rapidly.
The Bone Giant raised its hand, forming a spiraled bone spear. Gathering all his strength, he charged towards the falling red moon with unstoppable force.
The moment the bone spear collided with the red moon, it generated a powerful airflow, making it impossible for anyone present to keep their eyes open.
What surprised everyone was that the Bone Giant, under Kaguya Josuke's control, managed to resist the descent of the red moon. This gave Kaguya Josuke a glimmer of hope, and a smile gradually spread across his face.
Crack!
The next second, a crisp cracking sound froze Kaguya Josuke's joyful smile.
The giant bone spear began to splinter from its tip, and a crack spread from the spearhead across the entire giant.
Arrogant and unruly throughout his life, Kaguya Josuke didn't even have a chance to leave a last word. As the Bone Giant crumbled, he turned to ashes and disappeared from the world.
"Uchiha Gin, stop now."
The only one still conscious, Uchiha Hiro, watched in horror as the red moon crushed the Bone Giant and saw that its descent had not slowed. He couldn't help but shout.
Uchiha Gin ignored his words, standing there, blood covering his entire face as a deathly aura emanated from his body.
With undiminished momentum, the red moon slammed into the ground, producing a massive explosion and a powerful shockwave that sent those nearby flying.
When the dust settled, Uchiha Hiro looked up, stunned by the tragic scene before him.
A huge crater now lay at the center of the Uchiha clan's territory. The clan leader's mansion had been flattened, countless houses destroyed, and the cries of the survivors echoed endlessly.
Uchiha Gin lay on the ground, face-up, blood streaming from every pore. A weakened girl staggered to her feet and stumbled toward the fallen boy.
The enormous explosion roused Uchiha Tajima from his sorrow over the loss of his wife and son. Feeling the surge of power in his eyes, he painfully closed them.
"Another Mangekyou technique? But what good is it?"
When Uchiha Tajima reopened his eyes, a bitter expression appeared. He truly couldn't bear the price of these legendary eyes.
"Clan leader, what happened to our territory?"
Uchiha Haru, who arrived late, was also shocked at the devastation before him, especially the deep crater in the center, which was beyond his understanding.
"Both of you, explain what happened."
Uchiha Tajima and his companion had arrived later and were unaware of the earlier events.
"Gin and I had already subdued the intruder, but…"
The still-conscious girl, concerned for the unconscious Uchiha Gin, recounted everything that had happened.
"You said your consciousness lost control, and you unintentionally used the power of the Mangekyo?"
When Uchiha Haru heard the girl mention that she had suddenly lost control and used the power of the Yasaka Spears to absorb everyone's chakra, controlling the Kaguya clan members to kill each other, he couldn't help but ask.
The girl nodded, confirming she couldn't control her consciousness at that time.
"Has something like this happened before?"
As a researcher, Uchiha Haru suspected this rampage was no accident.
"Yesterday, Uchiha Igaku asked me to assist in an experiment. I fainted during it, and afterward, I had some unpleasant memories in my mind," the girl recalled, answering truthfully. "Those memories reappeared when I lost control just now."
After hearing her explanation, Uchiha Haru fell into a brief contemplation.
He recalled bringing Uchiha Gin back from Uchiha Igaku's lab yesterday, where he had found the boy unconscious.
After a moment, he looked at the wounded Uchiha Gin beside the girl and went out to ask,
"What happened to Uchiha Gin?"
"It was him. Everything here is his doing."
After a long silence, Uchiha Hiro spoke angrily, with a faint black aura lingering in his scarlet eyes.
"He used a technique I'd never seen before, creating a red full moon that leveled our home."
"No! Gin was trying to save us!"
Hearing this, the girl quickly defended him.
"And you, if you hadn't absorbed the clan leader's wife's chakra, she wouldn't have died at the hands of that Kaguya clansman."
Uchiha Hiro turned his fury towards the girl.
"Cough... Who turned off the lights?"
Hearing the argument, Uchiha Gin slowly woke up, struggling to open his eyes but finding only darkness.
"Gin, are you okay?"
Seeing him awake, the girl was overjoyed.
"Stop messing around, Hikari, and turn on the light."
Barely conscious, the boy heard the familiar voice and urged her.
"No…"
The girl was about to say something when Uchiha Haru stopped her.
Uchiha Haru, well-versed in the study of the Sharingan, saw the boy's problem but wanted to confirm something.
"Uchiha Gin, do you remember what you just did?"
"I just saw..."
As Uchiha Gin recalled what happened, he fell silent.
He had witnessed his aunt, whom he considered a mother, die tragically at the enemy's hands and had lost three younger brothers.
"I'm sorry; I failed to protect my aunt and brothers."
Ignoring his sudden blindness, Uchiha Gin knelt on the ground, hitting his forehead hard on the ground.
Uchiha Tajima remained silent.
"Woo, clan leader, please punish the one who destroyed the clan's territory severely!"
At some point, survivors gathered around and pleaded with the silent Uchiha Tajima.
As more people showed up, someone claimed, "The one who destroyed the clan's land is Uchiha Gin," and the scene quickly spiraled out of control, with accusations turning into venomous curses.
"Clan leader, this might be related to Uchiha Igaku's weaponization plan," Uchiha Haru whispered, appearing behind Tajima. "He mentioned wanting to brainwash the two to eliminate their will. The loss of control they experienced during this battle is likely tied to Igaku's experiment."
After listening to Haru's analysis, Uchiha Tajima merely nodded in acknowledgment.
Though Uchiha Gin, who was helped up by the girl, could not see, he pieced together the consequences of his rampage from the murmurs around him.
"Uncle, let me atone for everyone's sins with my life."
