บท 9: Ch 9 : Graduation test
After the incident with the Iwagakure Spy, a few changes happened in Tenma's life.
One, he was called toward the Hokage's office to give testimony.
But maybe because Danzo and his roots were backing him, the Third Hokage was not excessive, and he let Tenma go after a few words of encouragement and will of fire speech.
Two, there was some discussion about how Tenma should be permitted to have early graduation, as he already showed the power of a Chunin. But after a long talk, this was finally vetoed by the Third Hokage as he said he wanted to let Tenma have a fulfilling school life.
And last but not least….
" Damn it, could you just leave me alone?"
Tenma looked frustrated. Behind him was Kakashi, who had the usual indifferent face.
However, from his eyes, one could discern a burning fighting spirit.
Since the time that they accidentally met a few days ago, Kakashi had been going for him every day.
And obviously, it was not without reason.
At that time, Tenma, who didn't watch Naruto, didn't know Kakashi was a friend from the same village.
He thought the suspicious boy who appeared in Sanji's place was an enemy and attacked him.
And maybe because Kakashi was caught off-guard by his movement, Tenma successfully defeated Kakashi in one attack, and since then, Kakashi has always been interested in Tenma.
Nonetheless, Tenma had always found a reason to avoid Kakashi.
That one time in the academy was different. But here, there's no benefit to him fighting Kakashi.
This eventually lasted for about one month, with Kakashi only giving up because he had more missions to do.
But if Tenma thought the future would be calm and peaceful, he was fully wrong. Because after three months, things were finally kicking up their pace.
With a quick movement of his hands, Tenma created several handseals.
*Poof*
A burst of smoke appeared, and a figure completely replicating Tenma's appearance emerged right next to him.
This invited the cheers of the girls.
With his not-so-bad appearance and strength, Tenma had become the most popular boy in the ninja academy.
But what was more important was this:
" Tenma, clone jutsu successfully performed. You pass!"
Today was finally graduation time for Tenma and the others.
" Congratulation Tenma, now with you, nine of us have passed the graduation exam!"
Rin's soft voice appeared. It has been a few years, and in those years, Tenma and Rin had forged a good friendship.
Though Tenma didn't really have any feelings toward Rin, he still regarded her as a good friend as she was always supportive of him.
" Humph, he was just lucky." Obito's rude voice came from behind.
For some reason, he felt Tenma was an even bigger threat than Kakashi, as he could see that Tenma also treated Rin kindly, unlike Kakashi.
However, Tenma didn't really have the time for this.
For him, this graduation test was just a formality.
The result was already known before even the test, and it was not even a challenge for him.
The real test would only come later.
After the graduation test, Tenma said goodbye to his classmates and Teacher and secretly walked into the forest where he usually trained.
[ DING!!! It has been detected that the host is now alone.]
[ Do you wish to do the Graduation test.]
Right, after years of training under Sanji, Tenma was finally going to do his graduation test.
" Sure. Please do it now."
[ DING!!! Initiating the Graduation Test.]
Immediately, a spatial warp appeared around Tenma, and Sanji came out of it.
" Sup, Tenma. Ready for your final test under me?"
" Well, ready or not, it is better to see the result during our fight right, Sensei?"
" Humph, I like that one."
Clap!
The sound of Sanji clapping filled the whole area.
"Well, then. This will be your final test."
The smile was long gone from Sanji's face as it finally finished loosening up.
"If you still manage to stand on two feet by the end of the test, then you will officially graduate from being under me…."
Sanji threw the cigarette that was in his hand.
It was then.
*Crack*
Tenma could feel the air was suppressed, and the ground was cracking.
Though Saji tried to suppress his strength, the power that came from one that was said as the number three in the Future Pirate King's group was not something that could be underestimated.
Every single fiber of Tenma's body told him to run, that he would never be able to win this fight.
But his face was smiling. It was now the time to show the result of his hard work so far.
The two took their position, and when the cigarette landed, it was finally their time to clash.
Thud.
With a whoosh, Sanji's figure flickered and was nowhere to be seen.
Tenma spat out white-hot air from his nostrils and mouth.
The voice that told him to run, the nervousness, and even hesitation all began to disappear from his heart.
His naked eyes could not chase the movements of Sanji that looked like instant teleportation to him.
But…
'From my left.'
He narrowly ducked, avoiding Sanji's first attack.
'Left, again.'
Sanji launched another attack, this time by launching himself in the air and slamming down with his feet.
It was useless, trying to defend against an attack falling from above head-on, so Tenma fearlessly tilted his body halfway to the side and let Sanji's kick simply brush past him.
Kwa-boom!!
Broken bits of rock spat up from the ground, now shattered by the force of the kick.
Meanwhile, Tenma still stood there. His eyes glared back at Sanji, full of fighting Spirits.
" Good, now that is my student."
A smile appeared on Sanji's face. This was just the beginning, and the real fight was soon to come.
