บท 113: Chapter 113

Kazuki and Jiraiya exchanged glances, and Kazuki calmly said, "I refuse."

"???"

"Young man, haven't you heard of my story? I am one of the Sannin of Konoha!"

"Yeah, I know." Kazuki yawned, finishing the last of his apple. "But I'm not interested in becoming your disciple."

"Young man, do you even know the benefits of being my disciple? As my disciple, you could learn powerful ninjutsu and even the art of Sage Mode!"

"You know about senjutsu, right? It's completely different from ordinary ninjutsu!"

Kazuki admitted to himself that Jiraiya's Sage Mode was impressive, but he had no desire to learn it.

Why go through the trouble of learning it himself when Naruto could learn it, and Kazuki would still reap the benefits through his unique hundredfold return ability?

"I'm not interested, but there's someone who might be."

"Hmph, not just anyone can learn the skills of the Toad Sage! I chose you because you're talented. If you miss this opportunity, you won't find it again."

"Really? I wonder if the Fourth Hokage's son would be qualified to learn your Sage Mode?"

"The Fourth Hokage's son?"

Kazuki's words triggered a flood of memories for Jiraiya.

Minato, the boy with the radiant smile, whose talent exceeded all expectations despite being born a commoner. After Nagato died, Jiraiya had once thought Minato was the destined child, but the Fourth Hokage had tragically fallen to the Kyuubi.

Over the years, Jiraiya had rarely returned to Konoha. When he did, Sarutobi Hiruzen had kept him away from Minato's child, saying he would take care of the boy for the sake of the village.

Now, hearing about the child from a strange boy like Kazuki was unexpected.

Jiraiya scrutinized Kazuki. "Who exactly are you?"

"You're only asking that now?" Kazuki smirked.

Jiraiya had first noticed Kazuki due to the boy's incredible speed, which had even shocked him, leading him to consider Kazuki as a potential disciple.

In all his travels, besides Nagato and Minato, Jiraiya hadn't seen anyone as gifted as Kazuki!

"Hahahaha, don't sweat the small stuff!" Jiraiya laughed, masking his embarrassment.

Kazuki wasn't bothered either. He and Jiraiya talked more, mainly about ninjutsu and senjutsu—each conversation benefiting Kazuki in some way.

"My name is Gekko Kazuki, from the Gekko Clan. I'm a new graduate and a member of the seventh team."

Kazuki spoke plainly, but his words left Jiraiya in shock.

"You graduated this year?"

"Yep."

"You're... a monster," Jiraiya muttered. "Are you sure you won't reconsider becoming my disciple? Your strength at such a young age is unheard of!"

Kazuki exuded a level of danger that even Jiraiya could feel, a pressure not from chakra but at the very core of life itself. It was enough to make Jiraiya feel threatened.

Yet, this boy wasn't relying on ninjutsu or genjutsu for that effect—it was purely his presence.

"I'm not interested," Kazuki declined again. "If you really want to teach someone, follow me. Though his talent isn't as great as mine, he's close to learning Sage Mode."

"Sage Mode?!" Jiraiya was at a loss for words. It had taken him years to master even a fraction of it, and even Minato couldn't fully grasp it!

As Jiraiya followed Kazuki into the park, he wondered what the son of the Fourth Hokage was like.

Meanwhile, Konohamaru and his friend, who had been left outside the park, glanced at each other before begrudgingly following.

In the park, Naruto and Sakura were sparring.

Sakura wielded her sword, while Naruto used his shadow clones, relying on his vast chakra reserves to prolong the fight.

Naruto found an opening in Sakura's defenses and, using two shadow clones as cover, prepared his Rasengan.

"Rasengan!"

Sakura reacted quickly. After dispatching two of Naruto's shadow clones with her swords, she pulled out a Rasengan of her own and collided it with Naruto's.

The Rasengans clashed, triggering an explosion that sent both Sakura and Naruto flying backward, slightly injured.

"Rasengan?" Jiraiya was stunned. "How do they know the Rasengan?"

Before Kazuki could answer, Sakura spoke up. "Of course, Kazuki-kun developed it! Who are you, old man?"

Jiraiya was flabbergasted. "You developed the Rasengan?"

Sakura nodded. "Yep, Sasuke and I saw him do it! It started like this... then like that... and it worked!"

She avoided sharing too many details, as if she feared Jiraiya would steal the technique.

But Jiraiya didn't believe it.

Could someone be as talented as the Fourth Hokage? He doubted it.

He was convinced that Kazuki Gekko must have plagiarized it!

"Boy, explain to me how you came up with the Rasengan!"

Kazuki shot Jiraiya a sideways glance. "Why should I? I know plenty of ninjutsu. If you ask about every one of them, am I supposed to tell you all?"

Kazuki had anticipated this reaction when he developed the Rasengan, but he didn't care. His strength was enough to ward off suspicion from the likes of Sarutobi Hiruzen and Jiraiya.

Sarutobi had only recently learned of Kazuki's Rasengan, suspecting at first that Kazuki might be connected to Mizuki, who had stolen the Scroll of Seals and vanished. But Kazuki had explained himself clearly, and with no evidence linking him to Mizuki, Sarutobi accepted his story.

At ten years old, Kazuki had mastered two chakra nature transformations. What more was there for him to prove?

Seeing Kazuki's unwillingness to explain further, Jiraiya was left deep in thought.
