"So, while I was away, the boys here caught us another big catch, my, I didn't think the Little Dragon would wind up in my lap." Zheng Jiang says as she approaches my Cage and looks me over.
"Little Dragon? When did I get that nickname?" I hadn't heard anyone call me that before.
"I just made it up, it's fitting actually your almost like a younger Lu Bu, though with a bit more brains than brawn cause he would have just torn his way through my men if he was here, then again I don't know how strong that bastard was when he was only 14 but I feel he was probably stronger than you are right now." She says as she looks at me before shrugging.
"Don't worry, we won't kill you, so long as you don't do anything to stupid that is." She said with a shrug before walking away.
"Anyway send out the word, we're heading south to Xapi to do some raids, the rest of you, stay here and keep an eye on the merchandise." She says before they both leave before they begin to gather their men and within the hour they were out of the bandit camp once again.
'Now that they are gone, real question is how I get out of here?' I think to myself, with my strength I could easily break the bamboo cage holding me down, problem is doing that would make everyone in this camp come and attack me all at once, something I can't handle as I am, besides I don't even have a weapon.
'Think Xuan, think! How do I make my escape?' I think to myself as I begin to come up with a plan.
..
.
A bit later.
"Ahh, hey brother, can I ask for a favor." I ask to the nearby guard as they seemed to get lax as it was later on at night, along with the fact that most of them had gotten drunk and with many plastered right now with only a few people standing guard, and most were sleepy at that.
"Hmm? What?" The guy turns to me with his half opened eyes as he used his spear to keep himself standing.
"Sorry to bother you like this, but I really need to take a shit, and I don't have a bucket to use." Which is true as these idiots forgot to give me a shit bucket, man I'm already missing toilets.
"Haaa, fine, whatever, but I got my eyes on you." He said as he unlocked my cage and opened it up while I held my gut.
"I appreciate it." I said while he lead the way towards the latrines, which was basically an outhouse area for the bandits.
It well on the edge of the camp away from the main area, and area that wasn't guarded at all as it was just me and the guy leading the way, a guy who was sleepy and forgot that he dagger sheathed sideways behind his back as he was walking in front of me.
With a flick of my wrist I was able to take his knife fast enough and quietly enough that he didn't even hear it as I held it in my hand.
"Here's the latrines now GHRK!" He was about to say but before he could turn around I silenced his mouth with my hand before stabbing my knife straight into his throat before pulling it out and stabbing it straight into his heart before twisting it.
"Sorry brother, it's either you or me." Is all I could say as the man as he thrashed around a bit before his body went slack in my arms as I held his body before going to the outhouse and stuffing his body inside.
I looked at my blood soaked hand along with the knife as my hands shook a little, I wanted to throw up as this was the first time real me and not NPC me has killed someone, but since this body has killed plenty of people already I held back as I took a deep breath.
'Calm yourself, don't think of them as humans, think of them as animals, they rape women, pillage villages, cause pain and suffering wherever they go' I think to myself and thus the shaking stops as I get determined to do what needs to be done.
So now with spear in hand, even if it's just a shitty spear that's no better than a pointy stick, I can still make my way out of this place.
"But I can't just leave her to her fate, no one was ever willing to pay off the amount of gold they will ask for people to buy her as she ends up getting sent to the Xiongu(Mongol) Tribes and ends up becoming a rape victim of one of the tribes chiefs until CaoCao later buys her freedom and saves her, but by then the damage would have already been done." I wouldn't call myself a chivalrous person, but I won't sit by and let someone suffer such a cruel and terrible fate as that.
So I slowly and sneakily made my way around the camp but as I thought, more than 95% percent of the camp has gotten drunk from partying with the rest being tired and resting there eyes, not paying attention to what's going on.
"Seems like I need to go for a more tactical approach." I said as I quietly went around the camp while sneaking up on the lone guards still awake and pulling them away as I slit their throats before moving onto the next while hiding the bodies the best I could as I kept moving.
I grabbed a sword, axe and bow with arrows from three separate guards that I killed before I reached and killed each of the guards around the cages with none being the wiser as a result.
*Tingleding* but as I was doing this I could faintly hear the sounds of small chime bells ringing out towards the central temple where the bandits were using as their treasure store, but that could wait as I had a girl to save.
After all the guards were dealt with I approached Cai Yan's cage before using one of the keys to unlock the door to see the girl huddled in a corner as I could hear her silently sobbing as she looked up at me to which her eyes widened seeing who I was.
"Well, wanna get out of here and make our way to freedom?" I asked with a grin to which she looked up at me with teary eyes before rubbing them and nodding, so I held out my hand as she grabbed it and pulled herself up to stand at my side.
"Is there anything you need before we make our escape?" I ask her before she looks down and grips the hem of her clothes.
"My lyre, it's something my late mother gave to me as a gift when I was a child, these bandits took it from me…. I'd really like it if I could get it back." She said with a sad look as I nodded.
"That's fine, they also took some of my belongings that I'd like to get back as well, now follow me, quietly." I said as I motioned her to come along as we swiftly and stealthily made our way to the bandits treasure storage that was housed in the main monastery of the Great Temple of Confucius.
Many were still sleeping or were completely wasted and weren't getting up anytime soon so it was easy to maneuver around the very sparse patrols until we reached the treasure storage that was lacking any guards more do to the fact they doubt they would even be raided from the inside compared from an attack from the outside.
"Sloppy amateurs, you always have guys around to protect the goods." I mutter as me and Cai Yan get inside the bandits haul.
"Wow, there is so much gold and gems here." Cai Yan said a bit surprised that there was a large stash of valuables here in this temple, along with weapons and ammunition for bows and crossbows even there food and wine was located here as well.
"Hmmm, oh there it is." I say looking around before I see a beautiful silver lyre sitting off to the side, this was definitely Cai Yan's Lyre so I went over to grab it.
"Here, keep it safe alright." I say handing it over to her as she smiled at getting it back.
"Thank you, it really means a lot to me for what you have done giving me this." She smiled sweetly as she held the Lyre close to her chest.
*Chingling*
"Don't mention it, and say did you just hear that chiming noise?" I said as I looked around as this is the second time I heard it but much closer now than before.
"Yeah now that you mentioned it, wait do you see that?" She said pointing to a specific spot by the large statue of Confucius who stood directly in the center.
At the floorboards right next to the pedestal of the statue were beginning to glow with a rainbow colored light.
*Dingling*
The chiming sounded again and it came from that spot specifically, I was curious as to what it was so I went over and knelt down before giving a prayer, "Forgive me Lord Confucius for what I'm about to do." I said before pulling apart the floorboard with my barehands to reveal what was underneath.
"…. This is incredible, it's almost as if the gods wanted me to recieve this weapon." I said in wonder as I reached down into the hole before pulling out a two headed gold plated bident.
(Xuanyuan's Iconic Weapon)
'…. Or is this from that Crazy Old Man?' I thought to myself as I imagined home giving me the double peace sign with a cheeky smile on his face, but I shook my head as I could tell this was the weapon meant for me and would be my primary weapon I'd use to fight.
"Alright, let's take some of this wealth for ourselves and get out of here, though it pains me to do this to such a significant place as this I have no choice but to do so to cause a distraction." I say looking at one of the nearby torches.
..
.
"FIRE! EVERYONE WAKE UP! OR LOOT HAS BEEN SET ABLAZE!!!" One of the bandits shouted out as they saw the temple set ablaze and was beginning to burn there gold and supplies.
Everyone of them desperately made a scramble to gather water to put out the fire that was burning it all down, and in their frenzy they had no time to pay attention to the now empty cages or that their two prisoners have escaped their camp altogether.
"Good, we've finally made our way out, now I think it's best I bring you back to your father." I said looking at Cai Yan who was looking at me with a slight blush on her face.
"? Is there something wrong?" I ask to which she gets flustered and shakes her head rapidly.
"No! It's nothing! *ehem* Right, my father Cai Wang is serving in the court Warlord Liu Bei, so we should go to the city of Langye if we wish to reach him." She said as we began travel east through the mountains.
"We can't go their directly, Zheng Jiangs main force is in Xapi and we would need to get past them to Langye, our best bet is going to Behai instead." I said which made her eyes light up in return.
"That's a wonderful idea! And that way I can go meet uncle Kong Rong! I haven't seen him in a few years now!" She says all excited like as she begins to lead the way.
'Kong Rong Huh? This will be…. Interesting….' I think to myself as I began to follow after her.
