Today, Yanna went to the company with Melody. She wore a simple white button-up polo and jeans, while Melody had on a skirt and a polo. They wore their most comfortable clothes as today marks the end of their contract with the company. The meeting didn't take long, although the higher-ups wanted Yanna and Melody to renew their contract, but they couldn't do anything about it. After the meeting, Yanna and Melody still had to rush to the Rose Hotel.
"Yanna, are you sure about this?" Melody asked while driving.
"Yes, this has always been my plan, you know that," Yanna replied.
"Yeah, I just really want to make sure, as it's about to happen, there's no turning back now," Melody expressed her concern.
Yanna smiled, looking at the passing buildings outside along the way. "I know, and I'm determined, Melody. She has been waiting for me for a long time now. It took me a long time to find the perfect timing, but I think it's worth it," Yanna shared.
Melody, who had worked with Yanna for a long time, knew every effort Yanna had made to find the perfect timing she was talking about. In reality, it wasn't just about perfect timing but also the preparation for any backlash Yanna and Vanessa would face in the future after making their relationship public. Yanna had done her best to keep it hidden, and only Melody and Mirayuki knew about it.
Yanna had managed to build a few cafes around rich cities with Mirayuki's help and Melody in the past two years, which had now become a source of her passive income. Yanna had given her all to everything, even to her acting career. She had strived to be known for her talent and to prove wrong those who doubted her acting skills.
"Fiona said everyone has already arrived, and the reporters are also in their positions now, while Oliver and Mirayuki are keeping Vanessa distracted on the third floor," Melody informed Yanna.
Yanna took a deep breath, fixing her hair and polo. Today, she was going to make their relationship public with another surprise.
Melody drove a little faster to ensure they arrived on time. "We're here," Melody announced.
"Yeah," Yanna responded.
"I already asked Fiona to bring Vanessa to the press conference," Melody informed Yanna.
"Won't Vanessa notice the others if she goes to the press conference room now?" Yanna inquired.
"They wore masks and disguised themselves as reporters. She will only think that there are a lot of reporters, nothing more," Melody assured.
"Why don't you tell me the surprise so I can assist you more?" Melody offered.
"I can handle this alone. Just help me later after everything," Yanna declined Melody's offer.
Melody and Yanna arrived at the press conference room. This plan to hold a press conference was Yanna's idea to make her relationship with Vanessa public, which is why Vanessa was present at the venue. However, to Melody, it seemed that it was not as simple as everyone they had become friends with over the years was present.
Yanna took a deep breath and entered the room as Melody gave her the go signal.
Yanna walked confidently to the front with a lot of flashes coming from cameras. She smiled and waved to the audience who were watching live until the host gave her a cue to introduce herself and begin.
"Hello, everyone. I'm Yanna Rivera. I won't beat around the bush anymore, as I know all of you are curious. Today, I held a press conference to announce that..." Yanna paused and took a deep breath. She had said she was ready and prepared, but she couldn't help but feel nervous from excitement. She looked at the front row where a woman with a baseball cap and a mask was sitting. Despite the disguise, the woman's blue eyes gave away her identity. After making eye contact, Yanna continued, and the audience who followed Yanna's line of sight went into a frenzy.
"Today, I will step down from being an actress and leave the entertainment industry from today onwards," Yanna announced. Everyone was shocked, even Vanessa didn't expect Yanna's words. She looked intently at Yanna with shock on her face. Yanna smiled at her and continued, "I know all of you wonder why, but as I said in some of my interviews, I'm in a relationship. She's been with me before I even returned to entertainment. I found a new purpose in life because of her. I actually planned to become just a passerby in her life, but fate is very playful. She's a treasure and deserves everything. I want to give her everything I have, but at that time, I had nothing. My name was in shambles. But... I love her. I want to be the person she deserves. That's why I'm standing here in front of you. All of my achievements, everything I have now... are all for her," Yanna paused for a moment, then she went down the stage and walked to the woman who was full of tears. She took the woman's hand and brought her to the stage, then she asked in front of everyone, "Ms. Vanessa Rodriguez, are you proud of me?"
Vanessa felt emotional and nodded, "Yes, even without those things, I'm already proud of you."
Yanna smiled wider, bent down on one knee, and held a small box with a diamond ring. "I haven't done this before, but... Honey, will you marry me?"
Vanessa looked at the ring and Yanna with teary eyes, not taking the ring, which made some people nervous.
"We're already married. Are you saying the first one is fake?" Vanessa asked.
Mirayuki, Fiona, Oliver, and Melody couldn't help but shake their heads. Usually, it was Yanna who would unintentionally ruin the atmosphere, but this time Vanessa also did it at the wrong occasion.
Yanna felt speechless, understanding what her wife was thinking. "The first time was real, but I want to do it properly this time, in front of all the people around the world and our friends. I want everyone to know that my past, present, and future are always with you," Yanna explained.
Vanessa chuckled, enjoying Yanna's sweet words, but what she loved the most was Yanna's public display of affection. She moved her hand towards Yanna.
"I agree," Vanessa said.
Yanna excitedly put the diamond ring on Vanessa's ring finger, looked at it with two rings on it, and felt satisfied and content. She stood up, kissed Vanessa on her lips in front of everyone, and their friends were shocked by Yanna's bold move and amused that Yanna understood what Vanessa wanted. They started clapping and smiling.
The fans, who were initially shocked, could only clap and accept what was happening, as it was a beautiful moment to witness.
Vanessa lightly pushed Yanna, feeling shy about being kissed in public after not facing the camera for three years. "We are in a press conference," she reminded Yanna with a blushing face, hugged Yanna, and hid her face on Yanna's neck.
Yanna laughed and then faced the camera again with Vanessa in her arms. "She actually gets shy easily. Isn't it cute?" Yanna said, trying to brag, then received a pinch on her waist.
Yanna became serious again, "That's it. I'll be stepping down and will now focus on my family. We have been together for a long time, and I think it's time for both of us to give time to each other. To all of you who have supported my wife until now, please rest assured that I will treat her like a queen, as she always has been. I will love her and take good care of her."
Vanessa raised her head and also faced the camera. She borrowed Yanna's mic and made her statement, "To Yanna's fans, you can rest assured that I will take good care of her and will always love her. To our fans who have doubts about our relationship, I won't push you to believe. I love Yanna, the only person who wants to know me for who I am, the only person who treats me with genuine love and care, the only person who always makes my heart skip a beat."
Vanessa looked at Yanna and continued, "I always wanted to make our relationship public, and I know I'm not as perfect as people may think. Yanna, I hope you won't regret it, and even if you do, it's already too late."
"I won't," Yanna assured.
"Very good," Vanessa responded with a smile.
Yanna laughed from happiness, and Vanessa smiled, watching Yanna laugh while everyone watched them.
Yanna took Vanessa's hand, and they left the room. Melody and the others followed them, leaving everything to the staff.
Yanna and Vanessa got married three months later. Some people had theories and speculations, but it didn't matter anymore. Yanna's attention was now solely on Vanessa because two months ago, they found out that Vanessa was pregnant.
Yanna cried when Vanessa told her, and Vanessa got really worried as Yanna wouldn't stop crying.
A year later, Yanna finally published her novel, which included her story with the original novel and their present lives. She knew that no one would believe such a fantasy besides Vanessa, so she sent the first few copies to Vanessa, Melody, Fiona, Mirayuki, Oliver, and Alice.
Alice, who received the book, read it and decided to make it into a movie with Yanna's permission. The title of the book was "My Movie Queen."
