บท 14: Another Time In The Abyss

~Ting~

[The day has ended]

Ayo's body suddenly vanished from the hospital bed, reappearing on the floor of the tower.

Unbeknownst to him, he was now in a dire situation, deep in sleep, unable to differentiate between the hospital bed and the cold floor of the tower. Ayo was indeed a heavy sleeper.

The goblins from earlier, the ones who had previously attacked him, returned to find him on the abyss floor. They gathered around him, grinning, laughing, and forming a circle.

One of the goblins playfully twirled a club in its hand and then slammed it onto Ayo.

~Bam!!~

[You have received critical hit damage]

[You have lost 420 health points]

[You have entered a Bleeding state]

[You have lost half of your health points]

Ayo's head was drenched in blood, yet he remained unconscious, sinking even deeper into slumber.

Even the goblins, known for their malevolence, found this concerning. One of them even appeared to scold the goblin who had struck Ayo.

One of the goblins dashed back into the door they had come from, returning with green herbs that they applied to Ayo's head.

[Bleeding has been stopped]

[Herbs have been used]

[You will gain 5 health points every 30 seconds]

The goblins backed away, waiting for Ayo to recover and wake up. They grinned and sharpened their weapons as they watched and waited.

One hour later, Ayo suddenly jolted awake, shouting, "Daily Quest!"

But it was too late.

The goblins, who had been dozing off on each other, were awakened by his loud voice.

They stood up, swinging their weapons with cruel grins as they looked at him.

Ayo, realizing the dire situation he was in, jumped to his feet and moved backward.

"Appraisal."

"What the hell?" Ayo muttered, finding the last part of the monster's information rather unusual.

"Stupid goblins, use dragon power."

[All stats have been increased by 100 at the expense of losing 1 hp/sec]

[You have 900 health points]

[You have 800 seconds time limit]

Ayo was surprised by the sudden boost in his stats and the imposed time limit. He had just 13 minutes to make the most of this newfound power. He muttered to himself, "Shit, only 13 minutes?... Then I'll make the most of those 13 minutes."

He ran forward, determined to confront the goblins.

~Whoom~

~Tumble!~

~Thud!~

However, within just a few steps, his newfound speed became a hindrance. His legs betrayed him, causing him to tumble and roll until he hit a wall. The goblins burst into laughter at his clumsy attempt.

"I'm fast..."

The speed was something he had never experienced, even in his Ray Frinchell persona. His style of swordsmanship didn't require much movement, and he preferred not to run around, usually ending duels with a single, precise strike.

But now, he found himself moving at an exhilarating speed, something entirely foreign to him. He smiled despite the stumble.

"It's exciting..." he muttered, still panting. His body was enjoying it, even though it was foreign. Thanks to the system, he had subconsciously absorbed numerous skills and battle experiences over time.

His battle prowess and experience were unrivaled on this planet. His previous body might not have muscle memory, but his mind retained the accumulated knowledge.

"Wow, this speed... let's try this out," Ayo hissed as he regained his footing.

~Whoosh~

He launched himself forward, reaching the goblins in an instant, even faster than they could react. Unfortunately, he missed the timing to crush their heads as he had planned, smashing into the wall behind them instead.

[You have lost 69 health points]

He stood up, determined not to let this chance go to waste. He glared at the grinning goblins, his anger fueling his resolve.

"I'll get it right this time," he said to them, his voice unwavering.

The goblins were shocked by the sudden turn of events, and their expressions betrayed their confusion and fear. They lunged at Ayo, attempting to regain control of the situation.

~Wham~

Ayo's fist connected with the head of the goblin closest to him, the one holding a club.

[You have gained 100 exp points]

[LEVEL UP!!!]

A sense of exhilaration rushed through him.

[Your Health points have increased]

[You have 900 seconds time limit]

Ayo's feeling of freedom was intoxicating as he revelled in his newfound power. He smiled ominously at the remaining goblins, who had now fallen back. The tables had turned, and Ayo had become the predator.

~Whooosh~

~Pow~

Running was not enough to save them from the death that awaited them because he was faster than they were.

He caught the next goblin by its leg and smashed it repeatedly onto the ground until its head was squashed and splattered.

It was down to the last goblin, which quickly discarded its weapon and kowtowed before Ayo, begging for mercy.

[The goblin has surrendered and begged for your mercy]

[Will you spare the life of the goblin?]

"Hell no!!"

~SMASH!~

Ayo crushed the defenseless goblin with his foot.
