I looked at the students who began to exit the bus—a rowdy bunch.
"Alright, Kaminari, see you at UA," I said with a smile, extending my hand, which he took with a smile.
"Yeah, see ya soon." We walked out of the bus and saw everyone looking around, some doing warm-ups.
'Alright, now is the time to make this quirk useful,' I thought to myself as Kaminari walked away after patting my shoulder like a bro.
I sensed the electric energy inside me and tried to pull on it, slowly but surely, as it began to flow through my body, strengthening it.
A subtle blue glow and a spark were the only indications that I was even doing anything.
It seemed the essence was of extreme help; I hadn't even tried, and I'd already done something Kaminari couldn't do his entire school life.
What if someone like All For One or even Shigaraki had the Essence of the Blank? It's truly a terrifying thought.
A creak rang out, and looking up from my hands, I saw the gate slowly opening.
'Heh, let's see what this quirk can do.' I had ten minutes of usage, and the exam also lasted for ten minutes.
I bent my knees, straining my legs, and pushed off the ground. Zooming past the stupefied students, I used electricity over my body like Deku uses One For All—as a strengthening agent. All they could see was a blue blur.
"WHAT ARE ALL OF YOU WAITING FOR?! HE HAS THE RIGHT IDEA! NO ONE IS GOING TO GIVE YOU A START SIGN! RUN!"
Present Mic's voice rang out, shaking everyone out of their daze and into reality—a reality where I had already destroyed three two-pointer robots and two three-pointers.
Overloading their electrical systems by sending bursts of energy, I had already begun destroying robots left and right. Block after block, I zoomed through the robots like they were made of paper, pulling some students out of trouble along the way and earning a few rescue points as well.
Looking to the side, I saw a robot aiming its cannons at… nothing? Is the person invisible? Could it be Toru, the invisible girl? But how did the robot detect her?
I immediately zoomed toward the robot, destroyed its cannons, and went on my way. No need to stick around for someone else to handle the rest.
I didn't get many opportunities to copy any quirks, as I didn't see anyone whose quirks I knew.
Not wanting to focus on such menial details, I continued destroying robots until the timer rang out.
I'm pretty sure I'll be the number one in this exam, considering I've destroyed at least twelve 3-pointers, ten 2-pointers, and around twenty 1-pointers, along with rescue points.
Of course, the zero-pointer clawed its way out of the ground with about three minutes left, but I didn't bother to do anything about it.
I saw Recovery Girl approaching the injured, tending to them. She came toward me as well. "You injured, young man?" she asked with a straight face.
"Nope, I'm fine," I answered with a smile. She smiled back and patted my side.
"Good, good. Stay healthy, young man." With that, she walked away. I looked at the strand of gray hair in my hand and copied her healing quirk.
Yeah, I snatched a strand of her hair before she could register it. It would only feel like an itch, since it was so fast. I used Electrification to boost my speed and reactions to inhuman levels.
It also lets me perceive things in slow motion if I boost my brainwaves, giving me immense reaction speed and processing power.
I don't know why my brain didn't explode—in a normal situation, that's exactly what would've happened. But thanks to the Essence of the Blank, I've already perfected my "Boost" technique in such a short time.
Meaning I had already perfected that specific use of Electrification the moment I decided to try it. The Essence of the Blank is truly bullshit.
A small itch brought me out of my thoughts. Looking at my hand, I noticed some burn marks. Well, isn't this nice? I'm only noticing this now. I brought my hand up to my lips and kissed it, immediately feeling some of my stamina drain. Ugh.
"Yo, dude!" A call from my side grabbed my attention—it was Kaminari. He looked the same but a bit drained. I guess Recovery Girl kissed him.
"Hey, you okay?" I asked with a smile, walking up to him. "You look like shit."
"Yeah, yeah, the exam was quite hard," he said.
Huh? What do you mean hard? It was easy as hell.
"Well, I guess. For me, it was quite easy," I replied with a smile, looking around. "You know, you're using your quirk wrong," I said, looking him in the eyes.
"Huh? What do you mean by using my quirk wrong?" He looked rightfully perplexed and confused. Hm, a pretty expected reaction.
"You know, your quirk's nature—it stores electric energy, and you can release it as you please." I extended my hand, prompting him to place his on mine.
"I'll show you. Here." I opened my palm and pointed to the ground. Sparks flew from my hand and struck the ground.
"This is how you use your quirk, as an external strike and attack." I then walked some distance away and enhanced my body, visible sparks appearing around me as I blinked out of his sight and appeared behind him.
"This is how you should use it." I said, startling him as he turned to look at me in shock.
"Dude, how can you do that? You're a genius or something!" he exclaimed, staring at me with wide eyes.
"You should try it. It's like this: you focus that energy inside you but don't try to release it. Instead, circulate the energy throughout your body, like an enhancer."
"Don't try it now, and don't attempt to use it on your whole body at once before you get the hang of it," I said, looking at him before smiling and snatching a strand of his hair.
"Ouch. Dude, what the heck?" he flinched as I put the strand of hair in my pocket, where I had placed Recovery Girl's hair.
"Don't worry about it. But Kaminari, I'm serious about this warning. Don't try to circulate the energy throughout your entire body at once before you're sure you can control it entirely." I said, adopting a serious tone and a stern expression. "Your brain will explode if you can't control it."
His expression shifted to one of horror. "No, no. I don't think I'm even using my quirk like that now that you mentioned it."
"Anyways, try to stay out of trouble, dude. I'm off. Bye-bye." I waved goodbye as I walked away, heading for the bus.
Today was definitely a productive day. I had copied two quirks—two useful, powerful quirks.
I'll keep using these hairs to copy their quirks. I wonder if I can make them permanent if I keep training my quirk like this.
Wouldn't that be wonderful? Well, I guess it's no use pondering about it right now. Let's go home.
